Are you attending church today?

I am attending church via the Internet today, even as I'm typing this discussion right now. My pastor is talking about not being ashamed to preach/teach the gospel of Christ and sharing your christianity with others. Are you ashamed to tell others that you attend church or that you believe in God and that he gave his only son Jesus to die for your sins? I believe the God gave his son named Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice so that no one who accepted him and believed in and on him might not perish, but have everlasting life. Are you ashamed to tell others what you believe?

I am not at all ashamed of what I believe in and I believe in giving people the freedom to think their own thoughts without judging or disliking them. Cheers!!

o cool i didn't kno u could do that. i never really been religious i feel bad. but i don't find chruch that great. i don't know why its just kind of boring i feel like i'm history. but in this class its like they can't prove anything. so it just makes me more confused as i attend chruch the more questions i ask r answered but its like ok i still don't fully think u can answer one of my questions to the fullest. so i just stay out of chruch n believe hey there might be a god n hey there might not. i don't want to fight the issue. n no i'm not ashamed to tell others how i feel i don't kno alot of ppl who r really religious anyway every day there r less n less believers.

I went to my brother's church this morning. It is interesting, that he was preaching along the same line. His scripture was from I Timothy 6, and how we are to be witnesses, by doing more than just going to church.

That is so true. How else are we going to be able to reach out to others if we are always in a physical building. Don't get me wrong, I believe we need to attend the physical building much like going to school so that our learning process is continually cultivated.

I too attended church today. Being a witness for the gospel isn't always in the form of speaking, but just living it. When opportunities arise, it is good to share God's word, but many are turned off by those of us who just 'preach' at them. Even Jesus showed by example, to be a friend to the friendless, and show love and kindness to all. The only ones He really got angry with were the 'religious leaders of His day, with all of their rules and regulations that they taught one just HAD to observe in order to be accepted by God. On the scripture in Heb. 10:25 - not forsaking the assembling - that doesn't have to be church attendance exclusively - it can be a Bible study at a home - or a fellowship dinner - or just having christian friends over to have fellowship and share the blessings of life together. I don't doubt that the last part of that verse: "and so much the more as you see the day approaching," meaning that we that are christians will be needing the fellowship with each other more and more as we see the world and even the christian portion of it, moving into more 'worldly thinking and living.' It is wonderful that there are so many good christian sites and or churches where shut-ins and others can attend church via the internet. I have a friend who is blind, and that's how she attends church. Then too, there are people like myself, who have felt led of the Lord to start an online Bible study via email, for those who want to lean together. Mine is not real long, and goes out the first of each month, and one can join or drop out whenever one wants to. I've had some very encouraging comments from the group, which is always nice to receive. Anyone interested, can just email me at studyonline@jps.net and put "join" in the subject line. Have a blessed week everyone. C. C.

Definitely not. I don't want Him to be ashamed of me. And heaven knows he has reasons to be ashamed of me. But thank goodness He isn't, or I would be in deep trouble.

yes i did go to church today and our minister talked about communion as it was communion sunday (we have it the first sunday of the month and my church is baptist) our minister spoke on something to that effect several weeks ago. if you have exciting news, you tell people, yet, many people are afraid to share their faith.

God indeed is Love - May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you!
I'm just coming from church and we had an amazing time. The speaker was talking about what happens when Jesus is in you and upon you. Scripture reference was John 9. I am not ashamed of the gospel and I pray everyday that the Lord grant me the strength and power to speak his word to others.

Growing up, I attended church every Sunday. It was something we did as a family. After I moved out of my parents' house, I stopped attending church. Even before I moved out, I wanted to stop going, but I still attended just to keep my parents happy. I'm much happier since I stopped going to church and I have no intention of going back. Church and religion just isn't for me. I'm too much of a free-thinker and like to make up my own mind on things and have my own opinion. Plus, I don't believe most, if not all of those stories. I guess I'm just too much of a logical thinker.

I am not in the least bit ashamed to let people know my beliefs. I am Southern Baptist, and I love my Father. I did not know, though that one could attend church via the internet. I would love to do this sometimes. It makes me feel horrible, but sometimes I just can't go to church like I want to. And this weekend I am taking my children on vacation, and we will not be able to attend services. How do you do to church online?

hi rmorefield: whatever church you attend, has to offer their services to be seen online in order for you to be able to watch it. I'm a member of a rather large ministry. But there are quite a few ministries that offer their services online as well. You could even watch archive sermons on some of their websites.

That's good. Thanks for sharing his teachings. I am not always attending mass on church but I still pray and do some good and positive things everyday. I know it is very important to attend and hear the teachings in the bible that's why I want someday, after I achieve my goal I will always go to church to listen. I am very busy right now on earning money. But i still don't forget to thank the Lord every single day of my life of the blessings he allows to comes in me.

I'm not ashamed, and we have to think what are we capable of doing for HIM? We have to remember that He gave his life for us.

We obviously will disagree on this subject and rather than get in a debate over the entire topic, I'll just say thanks for your response.
