Last night when I was driving home after work around 430pm I was involved in an intervention on the road with 2 other cars. There was a woman, probably in her 40's, driving by herself that kept going over the middle dividing line. I mean way over. At times she was driving in the oncoming traffic lane. It was a country road. One lane on each side that was curvy at spots.
At first I slowed down and kept my distance. I was not sure if she was on a phone or not. then another car turned in back of her - in front of me. It continued happening.
We got to a traffic light and the other woman pulled alongside her and i pulled up behind her. We both got out of our cars and approached the woman. She said she took a bunch of muscle relaxants - not sure if I believed her or not. Could have been drinking but I did not smell anything.
The other woman offered to have her park her car at the corner and she would drive her home. Nope - that was out of the question - afterall she was fine. Then I offered to follow them if she would let the woman drive her home in her car. then drive the other woman back to her car. Nope and she started to put her window up!
So we decided to follow her home with our flashers on! Every time she started going over the line I honked my horn real loud..mainly for others to be aware of her. She only did it twice. We got her to her apartment and left her there. She really scared me. I thought for sure I would be calling for an ambulance. I worried that if she hit someone headon that the other driver would be hurt or we would get hurt driving close to her.
What would you have done?

It sounds like you handled it very well. It would have been safer if she would have consented to letting one of you drive her home. You might have been somewhat liable if she'd been involved in an accident! I think I would have called 911 because they could have found you and helped her more. She obviously wasn't thinking correctly!

I am just glad it ended well! I didn't think that I could be liable but I guess I could have...I guess that is why people don't stop to help others that much anymore.
