Modular home versus mobile home

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these two? Which one is better? Which do others prefer? Is one safer or not safer? Is one worth more, later on down the road? What about prices to buy? Which costs less? What about insurance, like home owner's insurance? Is it easier to insure a modular home or a mobile home?
