So with Roger Federer winning his sixth Wimbledon singles title he has officially be come the greatest player in history having surpassed Pete Sampras's Grand Slam Record.
There is no denying that Federer is a very skillful player and in this day and age where more points our won through the power of your serve than actual game play, he is without doubt one of the best. But despite now having the Grand Slam record I honestly don't believe he is the greatest player in the history of Tennis. I would actually rate Björn Borg as a greater player with 11 Grand Slam wins.
Who would you say is the greatest player in the history of tennis.

If only Andre Agassi have not had any personal issues in him during his great tennis career... I would say that he is the best ever & the most intelligent pro tennis player... Tennis is always dominated by big server players, but since the likes of Agassi & Michael Chang entered the pro, we've seen a different aspect of the game...& Tennis matches has never been the same when these 2 quick player running up & down the net chasing every possible winning point using their quickness. Agassi's solid ground stroke plays have certainly inspired the big men of today to not only rely on their serves but to have a better all around play... may it be playing w/ forehand & backhand... Roger is one of the best ever...if he can continue his winning ways... Then he's the Ultimate Athlete ever in all sport history.

No one can forget Ivan Lendl. Though he or Mats Willander or Boris Becker are talked about now, I still remember the match between Ivan Lendl and Mats Willander and the way Boris Becker peeped into the center court just before his finals match began.
Every player is great in their own time. You cannot compare players of different ages. We have lots of greats.
And now I join all others in congratulating Roger Federer on winning the Wimbledon title for the 6th time.

he has been so consistent and fit throughout his run, thats the one USP that separates him from other great champs.

It was a match I am not going to forget soon.More than 4 hours of mind-blowing tennis.
Roger Federer is no doubt one of the greatest players in the history of tennis.
But I will have to agree that even Roddick was very good.It was hard luck for him.
For now I just hope Federer continues winning more such titles and leaves a record which cannot be easily broken by anyone.
