Do you drive your daughter to school?

I have a five year old kid and she goes to school from Mondays to Friday. Her school will take about 5 minutes driving. She goes to school at 2 pm and we leave in our house about 1:30 pm. As a mother, would you take your child earlier than her time or you'll be punctual?

I drive my kids to daycare three times in a week. However, my daughter will start school next year and of course I will drive her to school from Monday to Friday. I prefer to bring her at least 10 minutes earlier. I always comfortable doing things earlier and meeting scheduled time a bit earlier.

Right now is summer vacation for the schools around here. At the end of August they will go back to school. My oldest is going into first grade. She will ride the bus to school. Her sister is going into preschool. I have to drive her and pick her up. The school is just about 3 blocks up the hill so that isn't too bad. The pick up time at the preschool is the same time as my oldest getting off the bus. So she will wait at the school for me and I will pick them both up.

I would take the child a bit early. So that my small kid gets used to the difference between home and school. For a five year old it is important that we make the change from home atmosphere to school as cool as possible.
if you leave home at the stroke of 1.55 ( as in your case as you need to make it in 5 minutes) you may be judged punctual, but it wont be comfortable for the kid.
take the kid a bit earlier. Small talk a little while you move it around the school garden or playing area. reassure it that you are always with him or her in a subconscious way.
as the kid grows up,say, after one or two years you may gradually reduce the time and delay the departure. By that time the kid will also wont mind it

When my daughter was in preschool, I always tried to arrive about 5 minutes early. This way we weren't rushed when we got there. We took our time changing into her shoes or just getting her ready.
Now my daughter is in school so she rides the school bus. This way if she is late, it is the bus drivers fault, not mine:)

I have till this point, they will go to kindergarten next year and they will ride the bus. I would have to leave the house earlier and get them up even earlier to drive them there as car line starts at 7:00 the bus picks up at 7:00 so if they ride the bus they can get on it in our driveway at 7, if I drive them I have to leave my house by about 6:45 to get them there and get in line. I could leave at 7:00 and be at the back of the line but then I would risk them being late for school and I do not want that.
