Why response when you are not sure about the topic?

I have seen it everywhere in mylot. There are some users, who for the shake of answering, just answer any question. They have no relevance with the actual discussion,. I have obtained some responses like these. I was initially happy to get responses, but next moment I saw they were good for nothing. Do you answer such way?

I think people who responding without any interest to the topic is just looking for point number. They thought if they post any text it would give them more revenue. The fact is they won't got anything for it unless a point number. I never want to respond any topic if i have no interest on the topic. I don't want to wasting my time by doing something useless. If only all mylotters here have a high dedication for the improvement of mylot, i believe mylot would become a great site for opinions sharing. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Not really Subha but if it is a discussion started by friends I make an exception.I do not mind telling them that I cannot contribute to the discussion.Suppose , we friends were to sit in a round table and just spend some time in a pleasant chat don't we just be silent spectators and when it is called for just say 'I don't know'? Similarly I do not hesitate to do this to friends , because I know for sure that they won't mistake me and read through what I have written. If I have something parallel or soemthing contradictory also I would share and add to the discussion[like what I have done right now

I am guilty of doing this too but I just do it alot of times, honestly, to help out other members by responding to them and to make more in earnings also. I also want to know more about the topic also so I respond and check out what others have to say sometimes.

Hi Subha, you are correct. Sometime I am horrified to see that most users without reading the discussion just go by the title and basing on that try their head which finally emerges all incoherent and irrelevant. In many occasion I have asked those users to go through the topic and then to respond. earlier I used to comment back but these days I hardly do.

I answer to discussions if I have an opinion on it. If I know alot about it is a different story! I give what insight I have and if Im not sure then I will say Im not sure but I think it is this... I started a discussion asking if T.I was in jail yet and somebosy told me they like his music, I was thinking that wasnt what I asked but thanks, Im sure they were just here for the money!

well one someone answers they are paying you, they might do that to support you, even if they do not know what you are talking about. Right now I cannot do that because I am so busy writing that I want to be sure that I really do have something to say before I answer a discussion.

Hello, I think they never read the whole discussion you got there. I used to get some of those users too but what can we do, if they just do to make money only. For me, If I am tired to reading it then I just turn off my computer for a moment and then come back with energy of responding. That's call off topic... lolz... can believe what they post on there.

These mindless answers bother me also. I don't post to a discussion unless I 1)know exactly what the discussion is about, and 2)honestly have something to say about it. My biggest problem, however, is that I tend to ramble on and on.

Hello friend, It is a very common phenomenon here. All of us are in a great hurry here and want to respond just for the sake of money. Being honest, I do not always read the entire discussion but I do that only when the subject is clear enough indication of the matter to come. However, I only check out discussions from my interests so I never indulge in responding with little titbits.

I see your point. I got an email telling me that i shouldn't copy and paste on my ehow articles, and i was like that is so cheesy. It was like she couldn't say anything else about the article so she had to say something about the fact that I wanted to make sure that the right person got credit and not me and it was only one article about going green with your computer. I mean I wasn't the one that did the research on the part that I put in there. That's why I copied and gave credit where credit was due. i wrote the article myself. I just inserted a little section because I couldn't have worded it differently. lol. anyways, I do understand. I try to find discussions that are close to me or that I can respond back and it can keep going. I try to start discussions that are the same way. Sometimes its hard to answer the question. I know I answered a question about abortion and gays and to be honest I was just giving my opinion. I couldn't give experience as to whether or not being gay is good or bad but because I stated my opinion it was not so bad. I was unclear on some of the wording and phrases but the discussion was good because it was almost a bit of a learning experience as well. But also comments are made to help or hurt your discussion and which ever way the person was wanting to make you feel about the discussion they accomplished it. you can always counter response to there discussion to try to keep them interested. See it as a debate and see what happens. You do make money on the more responses that you get.

I personally don't mind how people want to respond to discussion that I started. We are all here for money, if not we will not spend time being in Mylot. It's enough for me if there's even one person who will respond. I do notice that in a lot of discussions. People answering for the sake of answering. I think sometimes I do that too, but most of the time I won't respond if the topic is not in my knowledge or interest. We cannot change the way people are, I won't complaint much and accept it as it is. Why stress ourselves? Happy mylotting!

I have seen this as well, and I can be nearly 100% positive that it has to do with people tryin to make some quick cash. While that it why many join, it is wrong to post to something you have no idea about.

I agree with you, people respond to topics for the sake for answering..But thats totally not true.If they are responding they might have understood something or in the way you were not expecting,or they are eager to know things. Please understand the courtesy of the people, understand them. You have done a good thing by this discussion, you are creating an awareness, lets hope it helps.

Yep, I love oreo cookies and I have a cat named Thee-Thee! Just kidding. Many of my friends wonder where I am sometimes because I don't respond to their discussions. Sometimes my friends create a string of discussions that I just have no interest in responding to, and I don't! I don't post just for the sake of getting another post under my belt. The people you are running into are post-counters. People only here for the money, and not to contribute to the community of Mylot. I don't understand why they even try it that way, they never make much doing it. But then again, they are the same ones that tend to leave rather quickly once they find out there isn't much money to be made lol.

Let it be. I am quite flexible in this case. Not everyone can read the real meaning behind our discussions or probably have vague idea of what the discussion is all about. I don't think they wanted to divert their responses away from the real subject but their strength of understanding is limited and so responded in ways that they feel appropriate.

Hi Subha, Interesting question!! Yes, there are many users who do it and I guess you know whats would be the reason. But why are you so much worried about this. I would say that you should be happy at least your questions get answered without leaving blank..ya. Whoever post a question here wants the reply and same is your wish otherwise what is the us of mylot. People here comes to have discussion as well as to earn money. Isn't it? Am I right? Please don't react for this. Let the people answer whatever they like and you enjoy with the best response. Have a nice day!! Aira

here's the question, how would you be sure that someone is answering for the sake of answering ? and how would you sure someone is asking for the sake of asking ? the whole idea of discussion is about getting a matter discuss. if we only expect a certain answer to be right and certain answer to be wrong or uncalled for, that is not a discussion, is call hearing what you want to hear or to confirm what you already know. ok, i have to confess that, i answer this discussion partly because for the sake of answering.

I think whatever you did, I am able to understand its just for sake of answering. I started a discussion about something related to my country, the answer was just all irrelevant.
