Boston is in first as of now, however, the Yankees are only a game back and have won 9 of the last 10. And we cannot forget the 6 games back Rays who have a slew of all-stars and can make a run at any moment. Can the Yankees ride their sluggers into first place? Can the Rays possibly make things interesting from 6 back with the other two teams playing so well? Or are the Red Sox going to deny the Yanks a first place spot yet again?

I like the Yankees to take the division. They lead the league in runs scored, and runs per game. They are also the most patient offense in baseball right now, taking pitchers deep into counts. That is a recipe for success, as long as the bullpen stays healthy and the starters become more consistent I really like their chances over the Red Sox.

Boston will win the division as their pitching is far superior to anyone else in the division. The Yankees will be runners up and more than likely will win the Wild Card slot. It is interesting just now but I see the big two pull away after the All-star break this week.
