Breet Lee has got an injured rib and cricinfo says he is out of the first two tests. How bad is this going to be for Australia. I think its prett horrible news just two days out from a major tournament and Brett Lee was also the best bowler in thier tour match. He got swing going which can be a killer in cricket. So what do you guys think? big loss? will Australia be able to cope?

Yeh they will miss him a lot, he was bowled well in the warm up and picked up 7 wickets. He also produced some accurate swing. A huge loss indeed, but other bowlers have done well in his absense. Mitchell Johnson and Peter Siddle bowled brilliantly.

I think this is a major blow for the Australian team coming into the ashes as just at the right time, Brett Lee, who was looking very dangerous in the practice match played and got something like 6 or 7 wickets, would have been a serious threat for the English batting line up. The news about the extent of his injury still hasn't been disclosed. Hope it is not too serious. Or we will not be able to see him in action in the greatest battles in cricket!!

Yeh he was looking very dangerous, some of the swing he produced in the warm up game reminded me of his glory days back in 2005-2007. He was also very fast, he was up bowling around 95 miles per hour and was very accurate as well. Unfortunately he is out for atleast the first two tests. Hope he recovers well and quickly. England better make use of this opportunity.

They have Mitchel Johnson and Bracken so I guess they can do okay, but still it's really big loss. Lets see.

Yeh they do have Mitchell Johnson who has bowled well over the past few months. He bowled well yesterday, especially the changes of pace that really sucked Bopara. Bracken is not in Australias Test team, I dont really know why he is not given a lot chances to wear the Baggy green. Maybe they just want him to concentrate on limited overs cricket.

Australian attack do missing the services of Brett Lee and it is sad that these days Lee is catching up injuries quite often. But Australia is having good reserve bowlers and they are doing good job. Anyhow, Australia lost the Ashes 2009 and Brett Lee had missed the whole series..

Yes Brett Lee's injury is a big blow for the Australian team and he is irreplacable. Mithcell Jhonson and Bracken are good bowlers and Peter siddle looks impressive nowadays but it cannot fill in the place of Brett Lee. Moreover Symonds have been kicked out of the team and the legends like Langer, Gilli, Haydos, Warnie,Martyn,Mcgrath are all missing from the last Ashes tour sqaud and the team now is not that great as it used to be. But still, Australia is still a strong team and there would be definitely fireworks between two teams and it would turn out to be a treat to watch. I am eagerly looking forwrd for the Ashes. This time England have a slight edge over the Aussies but the Baggie green caps would give a strong fight to retain the Ashes and it is going to be a great tournament this time. I am expecting a quality cricket from both the sides.

yeh Mitchell Johnson and Peter Siddle have bowled really well. This team is way different from the one we saw in 2005. The bowlers made a good start yeaterday and the honours look even. Its a slow pitch so if england get close to 400 they will have a decent chance. Unfortunately Bracken is not part of Australias plans for test match cricket. He is a brilliant bowler, but it looks like cricket Australia wants him to concentrate on ODIs and T20s. Anyway lets hope Brett Lee recovers soon!
