I am getting my hair highlighted! Booked for 17th July!!! As many of you who know me I've been feeling pretty rough of late, well I've decided to cheer myself up and spend a bit of cash on getting my hair done!
I've had highlights done before and they've looked real good. I've even had my hair bleached totally blond, but sadly the colour wasn't that good and it looked awful even though I got it done professionally.
Call me vain but I love blond hair! Sad to say up until I was 4 years old I had beautiful blond hair, then it went Brown, grrrrrrrrrrr! I wish I was blond!
So I am getting the works done and hopefully it will bump up my self-esteem too and I can't wait
So what would you say if your partner/husband changed the colour of their hair? Would they ask you for your permission or opinion or have they ever shocked you by not telling you they were changing the colour of their hair?
What do you think about men with blond hair more sexier???
Blonds have more fun don't they, or does that just apply to the female of the species?

Good for you it will make you feel better.I always feel better after getting my hair done it gives me a real lift.My husband was always colouring his hair, and why not ,men like to look good as well. All this it is only for women is rubbish.I am glad to hear you are feeling a bit better about yourself, you are a nice bloke I can tell that by your honesty and frankness. My husband has gone a lovely shade of grey people ask him where he gets it done but it is natural, lucky man I just go salt and pepper grey not very attractive. You men have it all going for you ,getting rugged and interesting,we just have everything go south and turn grey.

I'd still come back as a woman my friend! I am feeling a lot better and I guess booking up the appointment today made me feel even better. I am doing it for myself and not for others that is the key isn't it. I've started to realize that because I am happy single I don't need to attract people, therefore everything I do I do for myself not for others, if they don't like it, what does it matter, I ain't interested in them. I am interested in ME, no one else. I guess it's a selfish way of looking at it my friend, but I have to look after number one and going through that black cloud last week made me realize that I am hurting myself.

I have no interest in being blond myself, although come to think of it, blond would cover the darn gray easier than brown would. But if that will make you happy, go for it I say!
As for my husband, he wouldn't do it, but if he would do it he would say something first, not ask but at least inform me. Hm, I should tell him blonds turn me on and see what he does with that information (evil grin)...

I'm a total sucker for blonde haired blue eyed men. There was a guy in my husband's basketball team when we lived in Singapore. He had short curly blonde hair and blue eyes and as well as being gorgeous he was such a nice guy. We became friends when he and another of the guys would come to our place for a home cooked meal...both these guys were single and lived at the barracks. I didn't quite have a crush on him but I could have very easily.

Well I have blue eyes!!! One of my more redeeming features, I have been complimented on my blue eyes so with the blond hair maybe it will make me more desirable, not that I am looking for anyone I hasten to add but it might build my confidence up if I get any admiring looks coming my way ;0)

I wouldn't go that far, but after 3 hours in the hair salon and a very very pleased and happy wolfie is chuffed at his new hairdo! The blond is wonderful it suits me and next time I have promised myself I will go totally blond. My self esteem rose as I walked out and I held my head up high, I just hope I can carry on this way.

I think that it is lovely for a person to have the color of hair they wish. Some people have blond hair as a child but it darkens to brown when they are older. My nephews were blond until the age of three and now their hair is mid brown. I think that coloring can have an effect is best for a person to dye their hair. I have dark brown hair and green eyes. I have colored my hair a bit gingery in the past. Blond wouldn't suit me. One male friend I have used to have white blond hair but now he is bald. If a man has hair he should make the best of it he can in my opinion. Highlights and lowlights can look delightful. I hope you are pleased with your hair my friend Wolfie.

It is lovely to see you too my friend. I think your hair sounds wonderful. I imagine that going completely blond will suit you because of your coloring. It is possible to have so very much enjoyment changing the look of your hair. I am glad you are pleased with your hair. It is likely to get even better with your plans that you are making.

Never ask your partner's permission! The element of surprise is much more fun! And you think blondes have more fun??? Not! I'm a very dark brunette; sure I was platinum blonde til that thing called puberty hit me. From then on, I went to such a dark brown, my hair almost looks black! And all natural of course until.....I hit menopause! Now it's brown/black AND silver. I said SILVER NOT gray! As for men with blonde hair, it is my personal opinion that they are too stereotypically promiscuous? I prefer a man with medium to dark brown hair, not black hair.

That's another benefit for being single, I can please myself and I don't have to ask anyones permission. I don't like black or red hair myself, but that's personal choice. I should be blond then because I am or was promiscuous in my twenties, think I've settled down now but I still want the blond hair ;0)

I was always suspicious of guys with blond hair. I found them to be conceited and deceptive and self centered. That was when I was in high school. I think a guy with dark hair and natural looking highlights is okay. I do not find beach blond guys really to be cool. Looks like a surfer wannabe.Often the bleached hair gets dry and straw like. I would not care if hubby colored his hair, just as he would not care if I did mine, we do not ask permission. Hubby likes anything that makes me feel good about me.Same, me for him.

Hey Wolfie. Good to see you and kiddo just color your hair however you like if it makes you feel better. I am all for wolfie feeling better. There was a time when I was working in a care in the northwest part of Kansas and I colored my hair a different shade at least once a week. Had people from Nebraska come in to see as they called it "the color of the week". Due to my youngest grandson going with me to buy it, It was generally something with a red tinge to it. Just a little different shade of red. I did a jetblack once and tho I am kinda not pale but less darkthan my Native American background 9really diluted) iI thought it looked horrible so out came the peroxide and the the conditioner and I went blonde. My baby brother who was a hairdressed always told me the secret to not messing up and drying or damaging the hair was condition, condition, condition!! The gay blade knew what he was talking about, May he rest in peace.

Thanks for the advice, do you know something I always listen to the sound advice I am given on Mylot and since reading your response, I have gone out and bought myself some conditioner and I have been using it every time I shower at the gym which is 4 times a week, so hopefully it will restore shine and vitality to my hair and especially when I get my hair coloured too.

Great to hear you are going to cheer yourself up and have a bit of a makeover, Wolfie! I tried the blonde thing when I was 17 - but it looked crap, as I have very olive skin and dark eyebrows. I ended up with strange, orangey hair - not a good look! My husband is/was also dark haired - though his is pretty grey and curly these days. If he starting mucking around with his hair, I'd be totally amazed - he has absolutely no interest in grooming whatsoever, apart from the usual shower, shave and toothbrushing routine ... so I'd wonder who he was trying to impress! I hope your new look goes well (post a pic for us!)

It's weird though that having my hair done makes a great deal of difference! I can get away with blond hair as my skin is very fair, the downside is that I burn easily in the sun. If I can remember how to get a pic up I will, might even change my avatar, so watch out for a new improved wolfie!

I am over the moon with it my friend! It took 3 hours to do!!!! Do you know when I went out of the salon I held my head up high and my self esteem just jumped up a notch. The blond colouring is wonderful, next time I am going totally blond! She was great and it looks very professional and it really suits me.

Hi wolfie, I hope your new colour will be a success. As for if I find blond men more sexy, no. Maybe it's because my father had blond hair, who knows. For myself I have always been attracted to men with very dark hair, and it's actually very unusual to see the local men in this area without very dark hair, unless they've gone grey of course.
I know one local gent who is much older, he went from grey to jet black overnight and constantly seeks everyones approval that he now looks years younger. It seems to have done wonders for his confidence though as he actually believes that he can now pass for about 40 instead of 65.

My husband used to color his hair every
twice in a month. He dont wants to see it
because it is already white sign of older
hehehe. I tease him for doing the coloring
then he just smile at me and said he wants
to stay younger to look at . OH that's good
to hear that he is so conscious with his
personal style.
For me what you did is a great style that you
wanna show to everyoe that not only woman can
have it but so with the men.
I know you look more charming when you have it.

It's good that men take an interest about their looks and are conscious of how they look. I am always looking after my body because it makes me feel better and more confident it also helps my self esteem because that I have great difficulty with!

I'm happy for you! Boosting your self-esteem in color is what you need, then go for it! I encourage hair color for men, however I prefer decent colors only. I'm fine with red and green but only concern is, if it matches ones look. My husband always ask my opinion before he choose other than his Burgendy!

I'm so glad you love your new do wolfie! I'm smiling for you right now!
I actually took your lead today. The last few days I've been feeling down in the dumps so I treat myself today, went and got a pedicure and my nails done. I'm feeling bits better now. Next thing is to tackle my hair. No matter how hard I try I can't convince anyone -including myself- that my gray roots are sexy... lol.
Keep smiling friend, I think you are a lot stronger and more amazing than you give yourself credit for.
P.S. I personally think red heads have more fun...

I think that you'd look very nice with blond hair, wolfie. The way I see it we should do whatever makes us happy in regards to our looks and self-esteem. I used to color my hair years ago. My preference was red(there's a redhead somewhere deep inside of me).Although it is important to have some input from your partner on decisions like this, your wish is top priority.

That's the beauty of being single I don't have to ask, he he he! I can do as I please, I think it's about time I gave myself a boost my friend. I still have a picture of me with blond hair and even if I say so myself I look absolutely adoreable!

You have your hair any colour you want!! As I type this, I have 2plastic bags tied in my hair whilst I wait for the bleach to do the bizz so I can put whatever colour I fancy on the streaks. My husband has always said he will never dye his hair so, I suspect he would ask for an opinion before he did so but, hey, its hair - what difference does it make. I've never been blonde so dont know just how much fun they have but I'm guessing that a lot of blondes have more bleach! I hope you're really pleased with the results
