I really realy need your guys help in identifying a spider. The other day a spiderI have never seen was on my van. Noone in my area can tell me what kind it was, they the spider hithed a ride from some other country. Since members are from all other, I was hoping someone could tell me what kind it was. What kind of spider is this? Or is it a new species or spider?

What an interesting looking spider! Whenever I come across a bug or spider that I don't recognize, I go to a INFORMATION ONLY webside called, What's That Bug (www.whatsthatbug.com). If you can't identify it from looking at pictures there, if you email them a picture, they will identify it for you. Do you still have the spider? If it's something unusual, maybe some one would want to see it. Aren't you glad you didn't find it under your bed?

If you have any universities near you, you might check with their entomology dept. It may be a spider that is native to your area. It could also be an exotic that escaped from where ever it was kept. Strange things can also come in with imported fruits and vegetables. Is there a grocery store near there? Kind of looks like a hippie spider from the 70's...lol. I have no doubt that it's real, despite what other responders have said. Make sure you let me know what it is when you find it, ok?

wow, i have never seen a spider like that, though i did live in 6 countries all around the world. there are new spiders appearing here and there due to increase in radiation, so could be the case

that's a "Green Bellied Brain Sucker"
of course, you have found out their little secret.........their primary mode of transportation is hitchhiking(their migratory ranges were much larger in the 60s and early 70s when hitchhiking was more acceptable)
if you have brought the little guy into your house, and he's been there for more than 72 hours, you'll have to get a court order to have him evicted.......they're very proficient in "squatter's laws"
one other thing........don't let him crawl in your ear.
trust me.............YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Hi rusty2rusty,
I think you should take it to the police or RSPCA so they can identify the spider, it may be poisonness.

Did you take it to a county extension agent? It is true that wildlife comes to our country via produce that comes in. I will look at your spider once I am out of the e mail response, so that I can see her.

Hey, cool looking spider, it almost looks like it can fluoresce. You must have one of those special cameras that makes real objects look like drawings. Must be that I figure, since you wouldn't be trying to put one over on us by posting an actual drawing of a fake spider now would you?
I have posted a picture of a spider that I recently took a picture of. Found this little sucker on my bedsheets one morning as I woke up. Opened my eyes and there he(she?) was.
