I wasn't born in the U.S. but the foods I am most comfortable with cooking are foods like turkey or jam or apple pie...... which nation's food do you like cooking the most? (Yours can be included!)

Mom was from southern US, so I learned to cook southern style dishes and still do. It's simple food for the most part: fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed and fried potatoes, quick breads like biscuits and cornbread. I like to eat those things too!

It depends on what I make the most. I'm really comfortable with making chicken stir fry, for example, which is just my rendition of a chinese dish. I like making shepard's pie, as well, and that's an irish dish. Chocolate chip cookies, 'cause I've been making those since I was little. I like to experiment. I don't tend to do alot of things because they're familiar, I like the excitement of making something new, trying out something different from another country. I tend to dabble in foods from Japan and China the most, with some Irish and thoroughly cowboy american foods thrown in. I've been trying to branch out into Mexican, Italian, and I hope to get into Greek and Hawaiian foods more.

I am more familiar and best at cooking desserts. Most likely because I love sweets.
