"I never liked that song and you did nothing to make me like it now", said Simon

Hearing that comment, my family fell to the ground as they were laughing so hard. My daughter set up her Wii and all of us were taking turns dancing and singing on the American Idol kareoke programme. So I danced and sang to the oldie "YMCA" as this was one song that I vagueley recognised from the list given. I knew that I could not sing well, but the comments from Simon Cowall and the others were downright scathing as they all agreed that I would never make it as a singer. Well, I could have told them that. No one in my family could sing well but we all love to sing. Have any of you entered a kareoke contest or have you tried the American Idol thingy on a wii?

No but that does sound like it would be fun to do. My fiance and I want a wii so when we get one, I may get that. Lol, or my sister has a wii maybe I can convince her to rent it? Or rent it and then convince her to let us borrow the wii? Lol. Well I think somewhere we have a gospel singer in our family. Not quite sure if that's true or not. I don't think I am an exceptional good singer, but my fiance thinks I'm good, and I guess I'm not that bad... lol. I'd probably get bad comments from Simon too.

I doubt that Simnon would say that to you. It was so funny to see him shake his head in amazement and then cover his ears and then put his head in his hands! Very entertaining

They make games so realistic. I was surprised at a trailer I saw for a game my fiance wants, it's name is Conviction I think, lol, I know he wants that game atleast... not sure if the trailer I am referring to is for that game... In any case, the picture is so clear, and it's amazing. A waste, but amazing... lol. Simon Cowell is a character, isn't he?

simon is really a character. The image of him was perfect - even the gestures that he uses was done to perfection. It was great fun

I can sing but I can't sing in public, it just comes out all out of tune, I guess it is because I am too self conscious. I sang once in front of my boss and she loved my voice, but then when I tried karaoke at work in front of people it was awful, I was embarrassed. It has been like that all my life.

You were probably tense when you sang at work and so it didn't sound as good as it would have normally. We have all had embarrassing moments like that. Many blessings

I remember a social we (Clarendon Parish AIDS Association) had one evening. I was the secretary then and we decided to just take some time off and rejuvenate ourselves. The president took his system and we took turns singing trying to make it a true kareoke. I think I did the best to accomplish that. At the end of my attempt people were either laughing too hard or trying not to look me in the face. One lady caught her breath enough to tell me I gave the word kareoke its true meaning.... carry-your-own-key . Well I think I did the best of the lot that evening. There is a place for non-singers ya know.

Sounds like a fun game! I've never tried it. I can't carry a tune in a bucket, and wouldn't want others to hear me sing! I don't pretend to sing well.

When my sisters and I would sing at family occasions, people would cry with laughter. This is so funny kat, a riot - you would love it but you have to be with people that don't mind making fools of themselves.
