we all know that bible is the word of GOD, its the food for our soul. this is where all HIS words are written. this is the book that states everything happens those years and what sacrifices GOD given just to save us from all our sins and to let us know that HE loves us.. often people now don't know what bible is, they don't know the importance in it.. they prefer to read a magazines, sexy magazines like f.h.m, playboy and a whole lot more rather than reading the BIBLE...
we must know the importance of this book, rather than reading a worldly magazines we must learn to read the word of our LORD, our soul need to eat those words.. we can learn a lot of things in it not like in the magazines. magazines can influence us in making bad things...thats why theres a lot of crime happening in our country because a lot of people are making bad things and its because they don't believe JESUS CHRIST as our personal savior.. from now on we must read the scriptures for us to enlighten our mind and soul..

Hi janebeth
Yes, I am a pagan but I do belive in the Almighty and in Jesus Christ as God is our creator and Jesus was the first Healer, but I don't belive in the bible as it was men who wrote it and I'm sorry its not the gospel truth, notice they don't treat women equal as God made man and women they should be equal and look what they made out Mary Madeline to be? I have not believe in men as lies. I belive in nature as men did not create it, all plants, seasons and animals, each have their own beauty and cycle and yes I worship every seasons that comes around, I also belive that there is God and Goddess, without a Goddess, God cannot do Everything.

I agree as well. That we don't read The Bible anywhere near as much as we should, and we forget that, it is God's guidlines and wisdom given to us as a gift. Sadly, I think a lot of people get frustrated while trying to read it because we are not used to the language and style of writing. A lot of people don't like to read other books because reading is diffcult for them, and The Bible even though it is the greatest book, is much more difficult for even the most avid reader to truely understand.

Well, you must remember the fact that, though Christianity is the world's largest religion, only 30 percent of the world is Christian. The rest are Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, Pagans, and so on. They all have their holy scriptures, which they read for spiritual fulfillment. Their scriptures satisfy their souls just as much as the Bible satisfies yours. Moreover, each of Christianity's 38,000 denominations or groups is a minority by themselves. They might read the Bible, but they might not interpret it the way you do. That's why!! In fact, it is non Christians who have made more of an impartial, objective study of the Bible than the Christians.
Cheers and happy Mylotting

I'm just wondering where you got your facts for this, and how 'anyone' can know who has and who hasn't made impressions upon people. I'd really like to know how one can know this as a 'fact.'
Thanks
Have a great day

I appreciate your posting. I believe in God and I believe in Jesus. I am not a christian and I am a staunch follower of HINDUISM. I have read Bible and at the same time I have read BHAGHAVAT GITA, the Divine Scripture of Hindus. Although I have never read Kuran, from Bhagavat Gita and Bible, I inferred onething that God is One and we call him in different name and different forms. Hindus call him as SHIVA/ VISHNU, Chrisatians call him as Jesus and Muslims call him as ALLAH. Yes, many people are loosing faith in God and nowadays i am able to sense more number of Atheists growing. Yes, we find time to read all other magazines but we forget to Read atleast a word from our Holy scriptures. But we cannot comment upon that as it is upto the individuals to follow them or not. But My personal view goes along with you. We people are Forgetting the God and violate our Living rules which is the sole reason for the outbreak of War and Terrorisms nowadays.

Not everyone believes in the bible and not everyone believes in "God". This is perfectly alright and there's NOTHING wrong with it. Magazines aren't what cause crime and it's silly to even say that. And if you think the bible brings nothing but good, then what about the Priests who molest boys? Do you think the bible told them to do that? Or maybe it's not even a crime in the first place. Is that what you think?

yes i know about that thing, they read bible but still they do crimes. it's not in the bible, its on the person. we can't blame it on the bible, they have their own minds and they know what they are doing. i think the explanation is this, they read bible but i think they did not understand it or maybe they have just that little stupidity in their minds.. that's all. thanks for your comment.!
may GOD bless you...

I know it's not in the bible, but it seems to be the excuse of everyone these days. "Well, the bible says..." I don't care what the bible says, these are different times. Things change. Plus, the bible doesn't really mean anything to me. It could all be fictional for all we know.

I have seen in many of the responses here that not everyone is a Christian. Well, I don't believe you have to be tied to any ONE of the business's for RELIGION, to have faith in our hearts and soul that God and Jesus are there for us, that his word is the Truth and love.
Why is it not being broadcasted as that these days, is because those that are in leadership that should be treating the people "us" with honesty and truth, we are not. The governments are fighting not for us, but for control of "us" hmmm what does that sound like? How do our children look at this? I believe the innocence of the child is something to truly look at how they are shaped once society gets done with the influences of the false truths they are taught.
Anyways, I may not be apart of any religion, still, I have faith, truth, acceptance and forgiveness in me, do you? To me that is more of what we need in this world than anything.

First of all, not all people are Christian. But for those who are, there are some reasons I can think of for why they don't read the Bible.
I am Christian, but didn't start actively reading the Bible until last year (and I've been Christian all my life). I found that I was trying to read the Bible cover to cover, and I would get bored, confused, and disinterested. I also wasn't ready. You shouldn't read the Bible like a book...you should read it while ready to learn what the Lord is saying and how it applies to your life. The Bible is like a guidebook to life, and sometimes, depending on your life situation, you may need to read some parts of it more than others.
The first time I actually sat down and read through Mark and Luke (by far my favorite books thus far), it was because I went online and found a free Bible study course where it suggested reading Mark first. I started reading--and found myself not wanting to stop.
In general, people most likely don't read the Bible because they are not Christian or are not interested. But many people have tried and haven't found interest in it, like I was in the past. You really have to search your soul and see if you are ready to learn what the Bible has to teach--only then will you successfully be able to read and learn from the Bible. :)

there are lots of reason why people don't find time reading the holy scriptures.being busy with their daily lives, and things that keep them busy.attending mass on sunday's is enough for them.it is really sad to know that people only remember God in times of trials.

I personally don't read the Bible very often and maybe that's my downfall as a human. I just don't find it all that interesting. It just seems to me that alot of the people in the bible turn to God for every thing and that just doesn't seem right. God only helps you if you help yourself. May be that's my downfall (and if so atleast half of my family will be in hell with me)but I just find it easier to believe the science of today than the storytellers of 500 years ago.
Just a quick thought The Bible tells us that it is a sin to steal, and kill. however, christians as a group throughout history have more blood on their hands than any religious group in history (more so than the pagan [who were'nt actually pagan] sacrefices).
