Outrageous! What's wrong with this discussion?

I reported this several days ago when it was already a few days old via one of the responses. Not only does it stretch the board dramatically, there is no way to report the original post. Am I wrong in thinking that by now, this discussion should have been removed?? We are asked to report when things are wrong...we do just that and nothing happens???

I am sorry I do not know which discussion you are referring to? I do know that it takes more than just one person reporting a discussion for it to be removed.

I responded and told her that I had reported it. She is not a newbie and must know that type of garbage is not allowed. She is from India maybe it means something there??

I have reported it to and I can not believe that a user with 2000 and odd points would do something as pathetic as that I certainly can not believe that it is still there I am going to keep an eye on that see how long it is staying

After reading the said discussion, going through their profile, it seems that this person posted TWO discussions. One was actually in English as required by the guidelines, & the other, in whatever language that was in. Yeah - it should be reported. It seems that the person just made an error, & accidentally posted that mess. Oh - yeah wonttakelong was right in what she said. It seems that the people reporting are the ones who find themselves suspended/canceled instead of the offender. I'm probably jinxing myself, but I'm probably one of those few who still has the same active mylot ID from the first day I originally signed up.

Well - there are other things going on that should have been taken care of, such as another imposter. Maybe someone needed a vacation after their 4th of July vacation? (to recover from a mis-adventure of some sort)

This is my original account that's been here over 3 years. I certainly don't want to lose it for doing the right thing. The post in question whether an error, a moment of boredom or an attack of revenge by a younger sibling, should be removed. It's not me being nasty. Does anyone have a spell to remove a jinx?

If my original user name survived the drama then you have nothing to worry about. But come to think of it you have been here a lot longer than I have. But you don't cause problems like writing discussions on abortion and religion....lol If you ever got suspended the community would unite and inundate admins inbox nonstop until you were reinstated. Have no fear.

What is the original post that cannot be reported? Is it posted in the discussion if I go somewhere else? If I knew what it was, I would help you with this.

That is such a pointless discussion. It's still there by the way. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to what constitutes a transgression of the rules and what doesn't.

The rhyme and reason are set out quite clearly in the Guidelines and even if some folk neglect to read 'em there are those of us that do and we report as we are asked to and we are ignored.

this is part of the reason why I am not that active here anymore admin says we need to report violations and trolls but when we do nothing happens to the violation or the troll instead they ban the ones that report the stuff

I think we just can't view the text in the way it is supposed to look. Since that user is from India it is possible they use some sort of translating software to write their discussions and a glitch made it show up that way. The text should read.... :A question: imagine that you love someone deeply and you are determined for him or her......that's your first love too...and he leaves you..did not even care for you how would you take it.. After some days you get some one who love you a lot and he or she is determined for you..and you are very happy with him or her.. After a year passed the first love of yours comes to you and says you.... That is all I can see from the persons profile showing what the discussion is supposed to look like. So I don't know if it should be deleted. If admin can read it on their servers then there isn't anything wrong with it. It just looks strange to us.

Yes, I'm thinking it's an accidental double post with the second one being in a different format. Even if myLot can read it the fact is, it has stretched the board and my understanding is, that stretching the board is not a good thing.

If you see things that are blatently against myLot rules, you should continue to report. I think it's sad that there is such poor response whenever anyone sends messages to myLot. I think many of the posts that are reported about are removed, just not necessarily in a timely manner. That's probably why some of us see an unexpected drop in money balances. If a post is removed, all the responses are too. Unfortunately, in removing these types of discussions so far after the fact, there is no opportunity for the erring individual to learn from their mistakes. It's punishing a child a month after a transgression, with no explanation.

I posted my response without seeing the discussion you referred to. No that I've seen it, I wonder if the writer really meant it. The entire format seems skewed, running off the page, etc. I'm wondering if if could have been a computer glitch at the time of posting, like perhaps it attempted to post at the exact second that records were being updated. The writer has a rating of 8, wich isn't bad, and I can't see that other discussions/replies have been like this one. What is obvious though, is that this member does not seem to reply to responses, otherwise we should have seen an 'Oops!'.

Well, I guess it may be in the process of been deleted. There are so many discussion threads happening, and there may be lots of discussions being reported daily as well. I do believe that the myLot admins do check on the discussions before deleting them. Maybe, we should just give the admins more time to do so. After all, the money will be rolled back if they do delete the discussion. However, I'm quite surprised that a member who had 2,000 over posts do something which is not according to the rules here. It's very strange, considering that the member should have known all the do's and don't of mylot... By the way, I had followed the link from the first comment post where you added the link for all to see...

Good day to you and welcome to myLot. You are quite right in your thinking about the user and the guidelines but unfortunately the reason I was prompted to do this discussion is myLots failure to act in these instances. They do in fact delete discussions without reading them first it seems. This particular discussion is an obvious error perhaps even caused by the server and it should be deleted. Thanks for joining in.

LOL...hi Asylum, long time, no see. Hope things are great in your world. The discussion was a series of question marks mainly, with some foreign characters and regular characters thrown in. It appeared to be a copy of the previous discussion posted by the same user, which was in English. She was a regular user though so it seems odd that she would violate the Guidelines with 2 posts, one in English and the other in another language, using a foreign keyboard. The discussion stretched the board very wide and on my computer the rating buttons were not visible until the 3rd response...others could see the rating buttons however on all the posts. The discussion had been up for 4 days when I found and reported it.

Tickle- I'm afraid I've been off for several days and do not know the actual thread you are venting about, but I am sure by now it's been dealt with. It does seem that at times it takes Mylot administration a long time to deal with issues, but they do seem to eventually deal with them. I would keep reporting threads that violate TOS and keep doing what you've been doing in terms of having some wonderful discussions. I hope all is well in your neck of the woods, and always glad to see that Cheshire make its way to my email box. Namaste-Anora

Hello Anora....I seem to be a bit hard to find these days. The discussion has been removed and so has the user sadly. All is well here although bitingly cold morning and night...the days are delightful however and so I have induced my friend to go on a picnic. I hope all is well with you as well. Namaste.
