I like to watch the cookery shows on TV, but when it comes to making I am quite lazy.
I like to see the utensils they use, also the way of making, the ingredient they use etc.My 3yrs old daughter and I both like to watch these shows, I hope one day she will be a better cook.
So do you really make the items or just watch like me.

No i dont watch them. My cookery tutor is my wife who calls me to ensure that i am mixing the right ingredients and doing the right things. I think that these type of tv shows are just a filler instead of being educational.

Saturdays here are a good day to watch Food Network, they have a lot of good cooks and I enjoy seeing them make new dishes. I have made many of the ones they have showed on their shows, some I liked and some I thought why would you put that on tv for people to make. I love to watch Down Home with the Neeleys and Paula and so many others they sometimes show us ways that we would not think of being able to do. Cooking show are fun to watch even late at night when nothing else on the tube.

Up until I cut my cable off last week, I watched Food Network pretty frequently. I have actually tried several of the recipes I've seen, or taken ideas from the shows and made my own variation of the dish. I've made a few of Rachael Ray's 30-minute meals. They take me longer than 30 minutes, because I don't use my knife quite as quickly as she does! I've also used several recipes from Alton Brown's "Good Eats." I think that watching cooking shows has improved my technique in the kitchen and helped me learn about how to combine different flavors and textures.

I love watching these shows, but I do not have an oven right now, so I cannot always cook along! However, I am learning what spices are good in certain dishes and the best way to cook certain vegetables.
Happy cooking and mylotting!
