Oh how I so want to say it to once of my co workers....
We're on production & supposed to be able to unload a truck in a certain amount of time for a certain # of people. The more people - the faster we should get it done. However this 40 year old version of Dora the Explorer is too busy checking her cell phone G.P.S. to find out where the big tree & tall mountain are & calling home to make sure Swiper isn't stealing her T.V. ( boy do I wish that would work, I'd drive around Washington with a bullhorn going " SWIPER NO SWIPING" just to hear the politicians say " Oh Man... ") to do any more than slap the boxes from the motorized conveyor to the non motorized one. A feat I could replicate simply by loosening a sensor wire so the belt did it itself. The two guys on the team ( myself included ) are sweating buckets as we throw those cases out of the truck , cutting them open & stacking them onto the pallets while she's slapping boxes. Heaven forbid she get out her box knife & actually open them to help us out. ARRRGGGGG!!!!!!
Ever woke up on Monday morning disappointed because the world didn't end in a nuclear holocaust & you had to go in to work? ( What's the hold up Korea...Fire those turkeys! )
P.S. yes I know this was posted on Tuesday & not Monday. I couldn't get on Mylot when I originally wrote it.

You need to have a serious talk with that woman. She is selling her time to your employer and she has no right conducting personal business on their time. If she wants to be on her phone or GPS, she should clock out and do it on her own time. Get your co-workers to chime in if you can. If that doesn't work, go to management but have the facts ready to back you up.
It really, really irks me when people steal time from their employers and make their co-workers take up their slack. People have such an elevated sense of self-importance these days, they feel they must be connected to the world at all times.

I used to work with a couple of gals that were always getting calls from their boyfriends/husbands. If they hadn't been so fast keying they'd've probably been in more trouble. They were actually the reason I got my first cell phone because if my mom had a problem, she often couldn't reach me on the work phone. (Yes, there were 6 of us on that one phone.)
