Why shouldn't you let your kids watch rated R movies?

Well normally R rated movies have mature images or storylines that really younger kids shouldn't be regularily exposed to. I know in this day and age kids are grown up faster than they used to be but anything we can do as parents to keep them safer longer we are obligated to do. That is our job as parents

Do you think that the movie industry should be responsible too? The reason for this question is there are rated R movies (I can't think of one right now)that has very young actors in them. Why have kids acting in Rated R movies when kids can't watch them?
