well i am just curious if all people specially girls are conscious about their underarms...
well, are you confident to raise your arms even if you are on a sleeveless? do you have a smooth white under arm?
do you think its a turn off if a girl have dark underarm? i know its really a turn off if someone have a smelly underarm...hehhee...
how about hair on underarms? some have a problem of having a like"chicken skin" under arm...
so what can you say about this?
thanks and have a nice day! :-)

Hi CK,
I like this discussion of yours...cool mama! Yes, i am conscious with my armpit. it's not dark but i have some hair on. i need to pull it out using Chaney. I love the feeling taking out the hair...it relieved the itchiness.

at least we are taking things like this seriously than not minding it and its grouse. i even volunteered to friends in taking out hairs in their armpit. i enjoy doing it with mom, sister and my close friends, especially during trainings when we have chance to be in one room.
yeah, really? huh! i remember before, mom ask me to pull out it for her, hehe after that day, she didn't ask me again...coz i am so lousy that i always hurt her...coz i also clip her skin with the chaney! haha but i always pull her gray her whenever there's a chance...

When I was a student, I never cared about my under arms and never shaved it. When I started working only I strted wearing sleeveless tops and became concious about the importance of keeping it clean and shaved. Now, I shave there once in three days, but still there is a black color. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?

Waxing does hurt a bit, its like pinch of ants bite, But if done properly ,doen't hurt much and its the best way for hair removal. And you can easily get wax strips for it, which aren't expensive
Also you can use a epiluter for it, which is alos good n effective..

I'm conscious about my underarm.. lol =D Especially when i'm wearing tank tops because i have got some hair there.. hehe ^_^ IT's quite ugly and embarassing to be showing strangers our hair there right?? IT will be a complete turn off as well, be it for guys or gals.. hehe ^_^
Luckily for me, i dun have the problem of chicken skin or odour under there, and thus i dun have any worries when wearing shirts and tees.. hehe ^_^ However, most of the time, i'm in tank and i will make sure i dun show my under hair unnecessarily.. lol =D

However, that's for once only and he did not shave it anymore.. hehe ^_^ It guess it's better to have some hair there for guys, but definitely not for gals too.. hehe ^_^

My main problem is I sweat alot. Its noticeable. I try to wear sleveless shirts so it won't be so noticeable but can't always get sleveless. So I try not to lift my arms. I shave under my arms almost daily because hair there grows fast. If I dont shave then I also become embarrassed about that. I wish I could have hair permanently removed there and also have my sweat glands removed.

hi jessi, i think that's really a problem, maybe you can use anti sweat deodorants, and also to prevent smell if there's any. its really a common problem for girls especially if hair grows fast...what if you go for a laser hair removal and ask for doctor's advice on how you can control that sweat...
me i am not using deodorant, what i am using is this substance that we call here as "tawas" (its a white crystalline substance and a little sour to taste hehhe...but it really helps me in preventing sweat and odor atleast for the whole day and well it helps whiten my underarms...)
but whatever, what is important is we do our best for our hygiene and keep our self clean and fresh all the time...
thanks for sharing!

then you are lucky!
yeah i think its also common to pregnant women to have darker underarms...but i think it will also be back to normal after giving birth? hmmm
i think dark underarm & smelly one is a disaster to any one specially to women!
thanks for sharing.

No, sometimes it doesn't go back to normal and this is because of hormonal problems. I know people that still have dark underarm after giving birth. I know someone that has had issues with her birth control pills. She had tried several because she always had issues that affect her body etc...so her hormones have always been out of whack and when she got pregnant with her kids her underarms got darker and stayed that way after childbirth. They are still dark today. I don't remember my underarms getting dark with my pregnancies though.

I really do wish that the darkening of my underarm will lighten once I already give birth. As for the chicken skin, I don't do plucking but why am I still having a chicken skin.

huh! when the darkening of your underarms just starts when you get pregnant, i think it will be back after you gave birth...coz that also happens to some of my aunts...and good that its now back to its normal tone...
with chicken skin...hmmm i'm not really sure coz the only thing that i know that may cause chicken skin is plucking! have you try consulting an specialist?

hello there!
i think that's quite normal for pregnant women...it will be back to normal i guess after you gave birth...with chicken skin, i think its a result of plucking? they say there's a proper way of plucking so that it will not result to having chicken skin...
by the way, congrats on your pregnancy...

it depends. if my underarms are not shaved then i will not wear a tank top or sleevles shirt, but if my armpits are clean and shaved then i will wear a tank top or sleeveless shirt. i especially like to keep them shaved in the summer, because i have to wear a bathing suit which has no sleeves in the swimming pool.

i agree, its better not to wear sleeveless if we did not shaved our underarms! hehehe
and its always better to shave our underarms coz i believe hair helps to produce more germs which causes odors when mixed with sweat...mmmm,
so during summer its really a critical season for those people who have underarm issues! hehehe
what do you think?

I am concerned about my underarm. I shave it in every two days and try to keep it clean always. I hate to have hair there. I think it is disgusting if somebody sees the underarm of a girl with hair. I won't use sleevless dress if I see that there is hair. I don't have a nice color in the underarm. There is a dark shade. So, I go for bleach after shaving. Even bleach is not of good use.

but me, i don't have that nice underarm, but i make sure to take care of it, to keep it clean and not bad smelling! haha whenever i use a sleeveless i make sure that i can confidently raise my arm...
i haven't try bleaching yet...

Hairy underarms for girls is a 'yuck'! It is okey if you're a boy. Is it one of the trend? keeping you underarm hair? because I read somewhere that Beyonce Knowles was spotted flashing her unshaved armpit with curly hair ... eeeuuuwww...
As a girl, you have to always check and make sure your underarms are clean. There are a lot of product and services out there that can be used.

Nowadays people have several high-tech procedures on attending this armpit issue- black/dark color and bad odor.
Way back 1915, the idea of consciousness begin as per record in US and UK. A magazine with a woman modeled on this topic.
In Muslim tradition, the removal of the hair from the underarms was a part of a collective of hygienic or cosmetics procedures and practices enjoined by Muhammad as consistent with Fitra for both woman and man and has usually regarded as requirement by most muslims.
Ways to remove hair:

Shaving, is commonly believed myth that it will cause to a thicker hair the next time it grows.
Waxing is effectively remove the hairs and most recommended but usually the process need money.
Plucking is painful and commonly practice by some women in the province.
About the dark color and bad odor:
The color is due to the pigmentation of dark spots on the strand of each hair. The lesser hair the clearer the skin.
Based on studies the removal of hair increases the amount of moisture allowed to cling and causes the bad odor.
Which combined with acid mantle caused by the use of some soaps, may lead to increase body odor.

Note: advantage- without hairs avoid or lessen the dark color, disadvantage- easily or usually lead to bad odor.(Normally people believe that as opposite)

This are all stock knowledge, he he he!
I love to listen about stories and important events.
For me knowledge is power and to say with supporting theories and facts
make my statement valid, ehe!
Not in all cases. Only for few which I do memorize until today.
That was long time ago, the last when I was in school was 2003.
I'm happy and feel fulfilled whenever I could share what I learned.

I am definately concious of my underarm. I have to shave and wear deodorant. I especially notice it in church where we lift our arms to worship! So I always make sure I wear deodorant to church now and shave my underarms! I think it's a personal choice whether someone wants to grow their underarm hair or not but it is important to still have personal hygiene when it comes to the smell.

hello puppynut!
yes i agree that its a personal choice whether we want to grow our hair in underarms or not...coz i also saw women who have long underarms when i am watching some movies...but here in my place its not really that good for a girl to have long underarm hair...maybe because we are just used to it...
but anyway, hygiene is really very important, it says a lot about us...
and its good to use something to take care of it and to give it good smell...and in your case, if someone has an odor bad odor...it will surely disturb other people doing the worship....
but me, i am not into using deo...it darkens my underarm...

yes i surely am very conscious about my underarms and keep them neat and clean free from hair. I dont always wear sleeveless tops but have a habit of maintaining them. I think a bad show of underarms would surely be a turn off. I notice this in my husband.

Hi, ckyera. Yes, I would be conscious about raising my underarm if I have hair under my armpits. That is just me. I would prefer to shave it all off before wearing a sleeveless shirt or a dress. And, if I know that I have hair under my arms, I will be very uncomfortable with going sleeveless.

Yes, I am conscious about my underarm, I "check" it regularly to make sure no hair is growing because I always wear the no sleeves dress and tank tops, I cannot let the underarm hair grow AT ALL and I think it is better to have no hair underarm, but that's just what I think.

People do make choices depending on their own will, its not that upon another person's forcing him/her these type of decisions regarding our physical matters are taken. The girls do have a lot more differences than the boys in these of things, the girls usually do not keep on the armpit growing for long that creates odor problem because of their skin rather being a little smoother than the males. The hygiene too gets disturbed when females keep the armpits dark as such.
Male do have resistance to the physical odor and problems of germs, the most unpleasant experience would be when other point out to us say you do have odor problem,we would feel that person is bluffing but that would be the truth if the underarms keep on growing

hello there...
yeah i agree with you that it depends on one's choice and also on the environment they are with...but what's most important is that they are clean and don't have bad odor...
well, to some cases when other people jokes upon it, there's a possibility that they are also saying the truth...for there are times that jokes are half meant...
thanks!
