Checking to find out the best free web page provider your opinion

I have tried out many free web page providers since I first started on the internet, but there are so many of them. Now I have Geocities, I had Xoom (that tells how long I have been on) I still have one on Tripod, Angelcities, and O Cstch. I find it costs a bit to upgrade these and then I also have to figure out the band width, and do not know (although I suspect no one is rushing down to break down the door) how much band width I would need. Lately there have been a few coming up, but I want one where when I do have enough money to pay for it yearly, that I can upgrade and of course the problem is the name. So my question is what do you consider the best free web page that you can upgrade to a free with as little confusion as possible. I want to have a writing site, where I can give examples of my fiction and also in the future when my novel is finished, to advertise it, plus any other work I will do. By the way, I know html.

I have a web hosting site for you to check out. You do have to pay for the 1st year, but after 30 days if you still have the account I will pay you back for your first year price that you paid. It has unlimited Band width and has always been a great server for me.

I think yahoo.com offers free web pages. Be sure and read the guidelines as there are some restrictions. I got kicked out but I don't recall why.
