I was wondering this after my mom said something about it and it made me wonder if that really was his casket? Its like they have so much coverage going on on this but has it been opened for people to see that it was his casket? Was there anyone that went to the memorial or the viewing that can answer this?

maybe the family didnt want it opened for the world to see so that may be why it was closed , it most likey was opened at one point but i guess we will never know . i feel bad for his children having to go through this so young as well as them being torn between people i mean this is crazy.

It is crazy. The thing is it probably won't stop here. It will be talked about for some time to come maybe even years down the road as well because of preceedings dealing with his estate and legacy and debts.

I think that it probably was his real casket - but even if it wasn't - many a memorial has been held without a body at all. I think the public got enough of him while he was alive and should remember him that way. The viewing should only have been for his immediate family and true friends, after all, he was a father, brother, son and friend and that should stay private.

You know I thought the same thing. I mean what is that was what they calla dummy casket it while the real one has already been buried or will be later so the family will be able to bury him in peace. Does make a person wonder.

I do not know, but why would the family have it their if it was not his. I heard that it was their because his mother wanted him near. and why would the city go through the expense of closing down that freeway to have it moved to the memorial service. I bet that it was open for the private service for the family. Look at Elvis his casket was open for everyone and you still got rumors that he was still alive.
