I have come up with 15 different things I could think of to use the inexpensive coffee filter for in a pinch and they cost you next to nothing to use. 1) Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. 2) Clean windows and mirrors . Coffee filters are streak-free so they leave widows sparkling. 3) Protect china when storing it. Place a coffee filter between each dish and it will protect your dishes. 4) If you breal off the cork in a bottle of wine when you are opening it, filter the wine through the fillter. 5) Protect a cast iron skillet, place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust. 6) Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free filter and apply polish. 7) Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter. 8) Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped foods in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale. 9) Hold Tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods. 10)Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes. 11)Prevent a popsicicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter. 12)Do you think high end salons use expensive strips to wax eybrows. I have found out that alot of the use coffee filters cut in strips. 13)Put a few on a plate abd put your fried bacon, french mfries, chicken tenders, wings etc. on them to soak up any excess grease. 14)Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick" fixer. And oh yeah....they work great in your coffee maker for brewing coffee. Thought these handy little hints may help someone that gets in a tight spot sometime. Wow, Flutter! Great ideas, and I think you've about covered all of the various uses for coffee filters. A few to add: Great for polishing silver or jewelry Dry crystal glasses with them for a streak-free sheen Use in place of paper towels when in a pinch If you make tea with the loose leaves, filter afterwards with a coffee filter, or use your coffee maker and a filter to brew the tea Good for dusting furniture when sprayed with a bit of polish.

Hi Karen...and thank you so much for the adds. I would have never thought about dusting with them, but I guess if you can polish shoes you should be able to polish furniture too. Thanks so much for your response and Happy MyLotting!!! flutterby

Hi txgrl...and yes I do have to much time on my hands. I am use to working 40-60 hours a week and now that I am on disability for health reasons I have a hard time trying to keep my mind active. So I like to make lists and put them on mylot and see if anyone can add something to them that I may have not thought about or forgot about. Thank you so much doe your response and Happy Mylotting!!! flutterby

Let your kids color them with washable markers, then spray them with water, a tie dyed art piece. Gather in the middle, wrap with chenille stem and it is a butterfly.

I never thought of the clear spray. Really good idea. We made some last Thursday at work. I try to come up with a quick craft every Thursday.

I would have never thought of that. It has taken me a few days to comment on your rsponse as we were having Bible School at church and I just had to try these out as on of the kids projects. Let me tell you they had a blast making them and some of them were very beautiful. I actually got some clear spray and sprayed them to harded them a little and most of the mothers took them home and hung them in a window or on the patio. Thanks so much for you beautiful tip. flutterby
