Do you collect any particular things? What things, and why do you collect them?

Hi everyone. Many people collect a lot of one thing, or they collect many things, some in the way of a hobby or investment, and some just because they love whatever it is they are collecting. For instance, I have many books and movies and cds, simply because I love these interests. I also collect a bit of art, also an interest of mine. I have a sister-in-law that collects beanie babies and McDonald toys, and a daughter who collects dolls.
Do you collect anything in particular, or even many things? Is this a hobby of yours? Or do you have another reason for collecting the things you do?

Hi Xo...wow, thank you. I forgot to add this one, but yes, it is a very good way to save toward something or to always have some cash on hand just in case of an emergency. When I put all of my change into a jar, I feel that I am never totally broke lol.

Hello Ladybounty. Tigers are so powerful, so beautiful, so I can understand your fascination with them. Your home/room must be very interesting, almost like a museum in honor of this regal animal. Thank you for including the link for saving the tigers, as well :)

Hi Rainmark. I also love fiction books! Do you collect the hard-cover editions? Or the paper backs? I have some of both, and enjoy reading and re-reading them and loaning them to friends and family. Hotwheel cars are cool, as well. I love that they have cases for them. And toy trains, that would be interesting, as well. I have a friend with an elaborate toy train set up and all the trimmings in his basement. Everything runs, but in miniature :)

I collect ceramic Emmett Kelly clown figurines... I don't remember why I started collecting them, but sometime around 9/10 YO, I fell in love with a clown poster and my mom bought my first Emmett Kelly... from there on out, I collected them.
I also collect Dean Koontz books; he's the only author that I collect.

Hello Timelord. I have some friends and relatives who also love to collect a variety of the die-cast cars. They look fabulous displayed in glass-front cabinets! And some of your books must be very valuable by now. Great things, along with your music, to collect!

Hello Cher. I also love antiques, those things that have meaning that goes far back in history or are of a vintage nature. Thank you for sharing, too, the information about glass frogs! They sound beautiful, but I had not heard of them until now :)

Hello Saundyl. You collect lovely things! My oldest daughter also has collected dolls since she was a child, and she has many of various sizes and from different countries. None of us have trouble deciding what to buy her as a gift for any occasion :) And yes, I love to collect books, all kinds. And many, like you, enjoy collecting stamps. All of these things are nice to have and also make for a good investment.

I personally collect Sports Cards. It's unfortunate though, everytime I start a decent collection, I turn around and have to sell it because things go wrong and I need the money. I don't really collect anything else, but do enjoy sports, hence why I collect sports cards. I mainly stick with the vintage card market, because I like the hero's of the past that were tried and proven. It is indeed the favorite of all my hobbies. Thanks for the interesting topic!

Hello Cgobble. What a great way to invest. I know a few others who love to collect the vintage sports cards. Back then, the greats used their natural talent and abilities and did not rely on steroids, etc. I'm sorry you have to sell it and start over at times. It happens, though, I know.

Hi Mermaid. I have a lot of beautiful earrings, too. Some are just costume jewelry; others are what I call the "real deal." Do you have a special way of displaying yours? Or like me, do you keep them in jewelry boxes?

Hi Bhaby. I also love to collect seashells. I keep them in large glass vases and set them here and there. They are so beautiful! And I love the idea of your bottles filled with origami stars. Someday, I will search online and learn how to make origami objects. Some are so very intricate, and all are beautiful.

I like collecting guitar picks cause i think they look cool and for other reasons like:
1.I keep on loosing them so i can find another to play with.
2.I collect different types of picks cause when i play different types of songs i feel confortable with different types of picks.
But i found out tht my father got 1 AED that they had stopped making i think it worth some money now.

Hello Loshyali. How interesting, to collect guitar picks. I didn't realize before that they might create different sounds or have different purposes, so I learned something new! Do you have any from a famous guitar player?
I do know they come in various colors and sizes :) And yes, rare things no longer made do go up in value!

Hi Yugasini...I think collecting stamps could be a very interesting hobby, and the rare ones are also a good investment, as they grow in value through the years. As for books, I think I would still collect them for my own enjoyment, even if other family members were not interested in them :)
