I just wanted to pass along a bit of trivia: July is Hotdog Month. Did any of you know that? I should have known since I have always been crazy about hotdogs.I am often teased by family members because of my love of hotdogs. I would pass up a good meal any day in favor of a good hotdog. Are you a hotdog lover?

I wondered why I have had this hunger for hotdogs lately. I like the chorizo dogs. Like them with mustard and sourcrout. Yum! Now, I am hungry. Gunna have to go down on main street at closing time for one. They have carts out at that time. Sounds awfully good.

I so love hotdogs. My favorite kind of hotdogs are the cheap ones that we get at this saving store called GFS. My all time favorites though is Smith's Hotdogs. Man thoes ones are the best to get. I did not know that July was hotdog month. Well now that I know I will for sure have to buy some smith hotdogs for my sister when she gets up here today. She lives in Florida and they don't have Smith Hotdogs down there and she loves Smith's hotdogs. I think she will like that. Thanks for letting me know that it was hotdog month. Happy Mylotting

I've never heard of Smith's Hotdogs myself Seppy, so they must be regional. I think my favorite ones in this area are Ballpark Franks. They're really great! I do sometimes think that hotdogs get a bad rap.

Hello, yes they are regional. You can only get them in the north area. They are the pricey ones but they taste so great. They seem to be the one type of hotdogs that everyone in this area buys. But I like any type of hotdogs though because they are easy to make and they taste so great. Happy Mylotting

I did not know it was hotdog month. I like a good hotdog ever so often too. I think we will have brauts today though. I like mine boiled or on the grill on a hotdog bun with mustard.

It just so happens that as I am sitting here eating a hotdog. My husband and younger daughter prefer boiled. Me and my older daughter like them fried. almost burnt. Of course on a roll. There is nothing better than a grilled hotdog. Right off the barbie. That's the best. I guess you could say I am a hotdog lover. I like hamburgs better. But my kids love hotdogs just as you do. They would eat them rather than a full meal. My dad buys the ones with skins on them. He says they pop when you bite them. They are expensive. I myself have to make sure the hotdog is beef or I wont buy them. Yes they are a bit more money but the taste makes them worth it. Happy Hotdogging dl

Just the way you worded your response made my mouth water for one of those hot dogs that pop when you bite into them, dloveli!I only eat the beef ones also.

Hi, worldwise1. Yes, I do love hot dogs. And I could pass up a day without eating an hot dog. It is one of my favorite foods but not my main and only one. I am assuming that July means hot dog month because of The Fourth Of July. I love eating hot dogs then.

That probably has something to do with it, cream, but when you think about it summertime is hotdog time!

I'm with ya on the 'dogs -- love 'em! The local butcher makes the best wieners I think I've ever had, we buy them every now and then and also whenever we go camping. There's nothing like a hot dog from that butcher cooked over the fire. I don't even care if it gets dropped in the ashes and the outside ends up burned while the inside is still stone cold - they're still a thing of beauty! I don't want to know what's in them and I don't even care that eating more than a dozen a month can increase your risk of cancer; they're still an excellent treat.

I second that, jessp!Heck, we only go around once so what's the point in denying ourselves everything? I remember when my grandmother used to buy the ones that were all strung together, yum.

Yes I love them. Load it up with mustard and onion and I am in hot dog heaven. I work at a snackbar where we serve lots of hot dogs. Golfers love to munch on one before playing golf. We sell the Farmland dogs and they are great. Recently heard on the news it's only safe to eat one maybe once a week. They can cause cancer.

If we believe everything we're told, carolbee, then practically everything will give us cancer! If that is truly the case then I think they should be trying to find out why everything is causing so much cancer. At any rate it won't stop my eating hot dogs.

I like them occasionally. And actually, I just had a craving from them over the 4th of July weekend and I had some of the ones with cheese in them. They were quite yummy.

I have not had those, Aurone, but I have tried the Polish Sausage with cheese. They are yummy, but something I wouldn't advise having more than once or twice a year!
