Do you like to cook the whole chicken or chicken parts?

When I go to the grocery store, I like to get both whole chicken and chicken parts - thighs, drumsticks, chicken wings; I like to switch sometimes. Ican have lots of different ways to cook them so I enjoy making the whole chicken even thought there has more work into it. Next I am going to make a garlic honey baked chicken, I look forward to it since I haven't made whole chicken for a while! I miss the juicy breasts part... yum yum! Once again the eating topic makes me hungry!

Whenever I cook chicken I cook the parts and do so in a Crock Pot, (slow cooker) on low. I find that it enhances the flavors and comes out nice and tender and so delicious.

well, for me I would like to buy the whole chicken, and if I need some part of it then I just buy two whole chicken cuz if I buy chicken parts is more expensive than I buy the whole one. I can also cut them and what I just need. However, If My kids want to BBQ chicken then I just buy some parts of them. Chicken is my favorite meat... never get bored of it., I love baked and soup... yummmmm....

Well, its depends on the kind of cooking that I do. If I do fried chicken, then I would do it in parts rather than as a whole. It is cook quite well and if divided into different parts. But usually we have this common way of cooking our chicken here as a whole, we call it lechon manok. Usually its done by grilling the chicken in charcoal and the chicken is grilled as a whole. Its really great.

for us, we have a system here that is similar to rationing food. within the society i live in that is, not the whole country ehehe but we can buy food from supermarkets and all if we want though i seldom do that, only at times. i'm not much of a cook. i don't know many ways of cooking, the different varieties. but i definitely don't cook a whole chicken since i don't even know how to cook one. thus i cut up the chicken that is given to us and cook accordingly.

chicken - our Sunday's best!
Hi! Actually every Sunday is our whole chicken day! The maids have their day off every Sundays and there's no one to cook for us so every Saturday night we marinate overnight a whole chicken and we turbo broil it the next day for our lunch together with some soup. We never planned it to have a whole chicken every Sunday. It just happened. And since turbo broiling a whole chicken is the easiest menu for us, we made our Sunday's best. Ciao!

haha Mermaidivy, you are making all of us hungry too! I like to eat chicken, even though I dont cook. My mother is the one in charge of cooking for family. We seldom have fried chicken wings at home. Deep fried chicken wings will mess up the kitchen, and seldom have chicken curry too. Those are the chicken dishes that we have to eat out. I like the chicken middle wings best. I still enjoy eating the chicken skins with the meat.

I usually go for chicken parts, since there are only two people in my household. We've only tried cooking a whole chicken once. It turned out really great, and we made an awesome chicken salad with the leftovers the next day. We've got another whole chicken in our freezer, so we'll be giving it another try soon.

I also have only two people in the household, I still make whole chicken once in a while, I just keep the leftover and finish for the week, it's good to save.

Hello mermaidivy, Whenever I go to wet market or hypermarket, I will buy like a few chicken parts especially drumsticks and two whole chickens. I am not really good at cooking though I can cook for my family and if I want something different, I will just bring the whole chicken to my sister's house nearby and ask her to help me to cook!

I like to cook the chicken part and it is best when marinated with my favorite herbs. Like lemongrass, lemon, oranges, pineapples and other herbs ingredients. i really the flavor of the mix ingredients really absorb by the chicken meat. I love love to cook a roasted chicken with a lot of herbs stuffed at its belly. The juiciest parts is when it is already done. You could see and smell the flavor. Very tempting to the eyes and so delicious. it can make any hungry go wild.

I tend to cook the whole chicken then any meat on the chicken that is left over i put in the fridge to either have cold in a salad or have using it to make a curry.I tend to use all of the meat one way or another that way it saves money and there is no waste.Happy Mylotting.

I don't handle bones very well. I don't do well with them in preparation nor eating. I like to bypass them altogether. I always buy boneless. It's a little more expensive, but I like to sit and eat my whole piece of chicken without having to pick around a piece of bone! My husband always tells me that I leave meat on the bones when I eat it like that! With the boneless, he can't "pick on me" for not picking all of the meat off the bones! LOL :)
