Hi everyone...
Heres the deal...I have been with my husband for 20 years now...he is a tile installer....he has been out of work for almost a year now like everyone else...he has picked up a little job here and there but not enough to survive on.....right now we live in North Carolina, USA but he has a lot of family in Puerto rico....a couple of months ago he was talking to his sister on the phone and she told him that we should move there, that he would be able to find work and that she would even be able to find me a job teaching people there how to speak english (i speak absolutely NO spanish).....also our daughter will be in 11th grade this year and she told him that the schools there teach everything in english and all the students speak english.....I am very skeptical....we lived there for 6 months back in 1993 and NO ONE spoke english....the only thing that came on TV in english was sesame street....i'm not kidding, he got a job alright....laying concrete block under the table for $3 an hour.....needles to say we moved back to florida at the time....she says it is all different there now and there are lots of people from the contiguous states there now....i tried looking it up but didnt get much info......i did see that Ramey Base is now a marriot hotel....so thats different and they have some aquarium downtown.....but still i am worried....i mean if i dont get a job that wouldnt be the end of the world but i would like to have one if possible...my main concern is my daughter and her being able to fit into school there and still graduate and every thing....
So I was wondering if any of you out there live in Puerto Rico and can tell me about things there and what you think about me and my daughter being able to get along comfortably there....ESPECIALLY the Aguadilla area as that is where we would be...
Thanks

I wish I could help, but I don't know anything about Puerto Rico.
