Yahoo messenger and Msn messenger question

I am a msn messenger user. I am wondering if i can add a friend who is using Yahoo messenger? Means I add his yahoo id to my msn messenger. Can i still chat with him/ her using my msn messenger while he/she use Yahoo messenger?

Yeah, you can still chat with him as both messengers use microsoft passport network. MSN messenger is able to link with any kind of messenger that uses microsoft passport network. But like what is mentioned earlier, the features are slightly different in both messengers so there may be some functions not working.

Yes you can, you can add anyone from other chatting application, the only thing you have to worry about is that most of the application from your chatting application won't work when you use them, such as nudge, games, call and such.
