Will you rather eat more and gain some weight for the clothes or fix the clothe so it fits you again?
Recently, I took out a one peice red dress an dput it on again, I have got a lot thinner so it is way loose now... so I figured an idea that I could sew a ribbon at the back and tie it so it doens't look loose.
When my husband heard this idea, he just says just eat something for the clothes to save your work... I thought that was funny, becaus eI was in the middle of the sewing job and was getting frustrated with the needle so he said that.
So which one would you do? Eat for the clothes? Or adjust the clothes?

If it was me, I'd rather fix the clothes rather than gain weight. If I get frustrated fixing the clothes myself, then I will just go to an alteration shop or to a dressmaker to make my dress smaller. Sometimes, if the alteration is a bit expensive, I will just simply donate the clothes to charity or give it to friends who want it. then I just buy new clothes that are not that expensive so that it won't be heavy on the pocket. I would never gain weight just so that I can fit into my clothes. I guess that is the usual prerogative for girls and women.

Hi, I would definitely fix the clothes - gaining weight so that the clothes would mean that I can wait forever to wear the clothes, as I don't gain weight easily.

That depends really. If the clothes doesnt fit me because Ive gained weight, then I would rather find a way to decrease my weight so the clothes could fit me again. I say this because I mostly have jeans and shirts. It would be hard to make alterations to all of my shirts. Good thing that I do have some slightly bigger ones but that would just make me wonder about my other clothes. I cant not just use them. So its better for me to decrease the weight that Ive seemingly gained.
When Ive lost some weight that my clothes are slightly bigger than usual, that wouldnt be a problem for me actually. Since I prefer comfortable loose clothes rather than those tight fitting ones. I wouldnt need to make changes to the clothes that I have since they still fit me, they're just slightly loose. In this case, I might try to put in some changes like wear a belt for my jeans or wear a perfect fitting jacket that I could wear over the loose clothes.
That's just me anyways.^_^

I would definitely either fix the clothes or resign to buying new ones. It is unhealthy to gain weight just to fit into clothes that are to big for you. (unless a disorder is involved) Not to mention how cool would it be if you could figure out how to take in seams and so on and so forth. Also if you are getting frustrated to much you should look into a local seemstress, sometimes you can find one at a reasonable price.

Hello mermaidivy,
If I found that I lost so much weight that even a tiny dress looks too loose for me, I will eat more so that I have a good figure. If I found that the tiny dress looks so tiny to my eyes, I will find some ways to lose some weight. I don't like to be too skinny or too plump. Maybe in the middle will suit me better. My husband thinks like me too
