Tattoo location vs pain

I am curious as to the more painful parts of the body to get tattoos, if it is the individual tolerance and being in the right mental state, or if indeed some places are much more painful than others.
I have 4 tattoos, the arm tattoos were pretty moderate as far as pain, the leg/calf one was moderate, and the vultures tattoo on my back was moderate to very painful, but it was 3 hours the first setting, and a touch up of about 40 minutes.
Try to reply with location and pain rating on a scale from 1 - 10.

I have two, one on my lower back and one on my calf. Both werent all that painful for me. They felt more like cat scratches or like my skin was vibrating. My mom said getting the one on her foot hurt the most. I'm going back for at least two more, back of the shoulder and wrist...I'll come back and let ya know how those felt.

I have 7 tattoos, 2 on my upper right arm, no pain. 1 On lower left arm(hurt a little but i have little arms) 1 on upper right shoulder blade no pain at all. on both legs, no pain. 1 on my stomach. The rose on my stomach i thought would be the worst, but actually it was no pain at all. I guess it really depends on the person and the pain tolerance level. I'm hooked!!!

I think some locations are more painful. My fiance has a tattoo on his ribcage, and there were parts of that where he was almost crying. Normally he doesn't mind getting tattooed at all.
I have noticed that the tattoos on the right hand side of my body have hurt more than those on the left hand side of my body. Also, touch-ups hurt more than the original tattoo did.
My tattoos are three on my lower back (2 on left side, 1 on right side), and two on my upper chest, near my shoulders. Pretty much the one on my right hand side of my lower back probably hurt the most, especially since I had to get it entirely touched up (I didn't heal the color very well the first time).

I have a tattoo on my left shoulder blade. It wasn't painful, really. It felt like a cat kneading me with its claws.. which isn't pleasant, but isn't necessarily painful, either. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being ungodly pain, I'd give it a 5. I really don't think it was bad at all.

yes there are more painful parts of the body to get tattoos. such as the feet, ankle, knees, spine and shoulder blade and neck. it does also depend on pain tolerance for everyone. the pain rating for those are all moderate to very painful depending on the tolerance of the person getting the tattoo. and also depends on the artist how hard they push. my friend got her tattoo on her shoulder the first time and it didnt hurt at all and then she lost 1/2 the ink on it and had it redone and she said it hurt.

I know when I got mine on my hip it didn't really hurt to much (rating-3) and the one on my back hurt a little bit more (Rating-5). I heard that the more fleshy the area the less it hurts.

I have 5 tattoos. One on my foot, one on my wrist, one on my ankle, one on my calf, and one on the small of my back. I would say the worst one for pain was the one on the small of my back. Pain level was probably a 6 or 7. If that would have been my first tattoo, it would have been my last that's for sure. The one on the top of my foot was a little painful too, but more like a 4. She hit a nerve while tattooing it and I had a numb spot up my leg for a few months. But that is the only one I have had to have touch-ups on.

I have 2 one on my lower back and one my ankle. The one on my ankle hurt alot more, especially when they hit nerves and my foot would twitch. I would say that was maybe a 4.
I went with a friend when she had a high detailed tat done on the middle of her lower back (right over her spinal column), they had to stop tattooing more than once because her pain was so bad. She almost passed out.

Well, I have to agree with those saying that they like the sensation. I also enjoy it and didn't really find it painful. When you tattoo on the bone you tend to feel it more. Mine is on my back over my shoulder blade and is quite large extending down to about my mid back and to almost on top of my shoulder. I got both the blade and the top shoulder bone, but I didn't think it was so bad. I thought it was a great experience. I got it all at once and it took about four to four and a half hours to do. Can't wait to go back for another.
