hi guys, i live in mumbai, india and here the rains are getting very irregular and that is something that does worry me a lot. this time the monsoon got delayed by at least 20 days.
i would like to know what you feel about this climatic change that is happening. i mean i think it is the pollution and all that the climate is chagrining and it can harm us in a big way and so i think it is time we take some initiatives and do something good for the environment and nature.
If we take care of nature and its balance, we are actually taking good care of ourselves.

It is pretty obvious that human activities have something to do with the change of climate. However, I believe that climate change is just what the Earth is capable of. Think of it this way, there are just more and more people from day to day because we don't have any natural predators feeding on us. With the ever increasing number of people, it can be expected that it will have some effects on the environment. Of course we should be doing more to protect the environment but I don't think just doing so can restore the environment to what it used to be.
Maybe it is time to think: do we change the environment to make it good for us or do we change ourselves to make us good for the environment. Trying to change the "climate change" is also following the "change the environment" approach.

yes my friend i do agree with you and the thing is people are not at all thinking about it. or may be we are doing it but it is the strong hold that we have to take so that others also realise the same and become aware of this problem.

the climate change is for real and it is causing a lot of problems all over the world, the world is extremely getting hotter in some places and there has been some wild fires in the forest in some countries, these are some of the result of the excessive heat that has resulted also in the melting of ice at the artactic

I agree with you that we need to take care of nature and do something good for our environment. There are many things that are going on right now that are causing global warming, but the biggest one is all the extra carbon that is being put into the air and that there are a lot less trees now than there have been in the past because of deforestation. If we could get to a point where we were planting trees as fast as we cut them down, it might help. But we also must find a way to reduce the carbon emissions that are made throughout the world. If people were to reduce the amount of driving they do, it would be a good first step. This would not only be good for the environment, but if we were to ride a bike or walk instead, it would also be good for our health. If every person were to do this and plant a tree or two, it could make a big impact over time. Thanks for bringing up the topic.

Hi amitavroy, the climate changes are becoming more noticeable and are worrying. In South Europe we don't seem to have four seasons anymore as we used to, just two, winter which lasts longer than it used to with much more rain and cold, summers which start when winters end with increasing heat. A very dry summer results in a lower yield of the mainstay crop of olives in the winter, the summers cannot cope with the water shortages. i agree that some initiatives need to be taken as they say a bad winter cycle can last for 30 years.

Me too.
I am in China and the climate here is very abnormal these years. Floods and droughts are very frequent, and the temperature is rising year by year. I can't afford the summer in my hometown. This summer is hot, too. And I know the greenhouse effect made the glacier decrease. So China's two big river which rise from glacier are in danger.
The UNITED NATIONS CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE will hold in COPENHAGEN in DEC7-DEC18. Hope this conference can do something effective. Because not only Kyoto Protocol but also Bali Road Map is disappointing.
The climate change can't stop until we can't bound our desire. Poor humanity.

Flood and droughts are with respect to human activities from my perspective. I mean there are always floods and droughts happening around the world where they are no human activities therefore we don't aware they exist. Those places are avoided when cities are built. Now, the change of climate has shifted these ares around and thus flooding and droughts happen in the cities built years ago. So, the question is: do we try to change the climate back or do we adapt to the climate change and move to those areas previously flooding and droughts occur but is not suitable for human beings?
I believe we have to do something to deal less damage to the environment because we should not damage the environment at the first place. But then, I also think we shouldn't try to "change" the environment or climate because that is the response of the environment to heal itself.

Sure we shouldn't set cities in dangerous regions where are often have natural disasters. But recent years many floods or droughts are not because natural but from climate change. So we should do something to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. Reduce our interfere and leave some natural space for other lives.
