What would you do without your computer?

Well, let me start by saying that i have a friend that i built a computer for last month. His first computer EVER... I found that hard to believe myself, but, i guess its possible... He has internet now and everyday he tells me that he would have done anything for a computer sooner, and he would die without it... So that leads to my question, What would you do without your computer? If my computer gives up on me and i don't have the money to replace it, i would probably die, cause to tell you the truth, my computer is my life... All my personal stuff, all my business stuff... everything... some stuff is irreplaceable, though its all backed up, the computer i have is a one of a kind too...

Although it might seem that computers are really important for us, but if you really think about it, their main use for most of them is entertainment. Internet is good, but then again only some use for it gathering information. I was one of the last people in my friend's circle to get a computer. And even then I thought that I would not live without it. Coming to think of it, the computer has stolen a lot of things from me. I used to read a lot of books before. I played a lot of sports when I was free at home. I used to read newspapers and do a lot of stuff. Now that I have one, I'm not interested in any of them. I'm just wishing I can move away from it for sometime and mend my ways. I have two computers and I have completely stopped using one. Rarely go online now and spend most of the time listening to music while I'm reading. I think I can stay away from it if I try hard enough. bourne

Not having a computer would make me a very frustrating individual to be with. I am mostly using the computer all day of the week. Once my comp got a virus, I spent the day calling my cousins asking them what I am suppose to do even as far as going to his place (which is 2 hours away) just to get my comp fixed. I couldn't stand it without a comp... it's like losing a part me. And after that lesson, I now make sure I back-up important files in CDs.

I just got my computer up and running again... It was down for over a week and I have been going NUTS. I have been to stores looking for a new one and had a friend checking out ebay for one but the funds are just not there. I have tried every night to get it to work and finally after working on it for 5 hours today I am once again in touch with the world. I am getting a new one soon so this never happens again....I hope.

I am addicted to the computer. So I don't know what I would do without my computer. Maybe just look out the window or something. I don't even know what I would do. Maybe watch TV or something. But I am totally addicted to the computer. P.S: Nice question.

Computer has become part of my business tools and without a computer every thing in my business activities will slow down, if not completely stop. I have many programs on my computer, including technical and economic evaluation models, and I can't do my job without them.

I just moved a few weeks ago and while I had my computer I didn't have the Internet for close to a week. That's what I would have a difficult time imagining, life without the Internet. The computer is also hard to imagine time without. Writing papers is so much easier to do with a computer than on a typewriter or on paper. It's crazy to imagine. But then again that's how are society is, so dependant on a computer. I wouldn't die without my computer. But my life might get a little more complicated.

yeah,my friend, it is hard to imagine that the personal life without a computer, just like you, all my personal stuff, and business stuff are handled with it, and we get used to knock and knock, and we have the evenlops replaced by the email, the most simple example. the computer make the life easier and faster. and now we come to you question:what would you do without your computer. if i got my computer lost or out of work, i think i will drop in a situation of "stop doing anything"for a period of weeks or months, but i will recover then. after all we can deal with anything without the computer before. and have a nice day! happy mylotting !

Computer is crucial to me these years. My first contact to computer can be traced about 15 years ago. Now,it is highly related to my life. It's just like kind of my electric friend of mine, not just a tool. You know, when I was in university, I hosted a program named "loving life and loving computer" in an internet radio station with a classmate of mine. One slogan we put into the program is that to treat your computer as your friend and to take care of them well in daily use.

I would probably invest in one of those netbooks if my current laptop were to give out. Not only are they small but they are damn good. Some are way better in performance than my current computer. Though I wouldnt say my computer is my life because i do cut the amount of time I spend on a computer daily so I can do physical activity and so I can socialize with people. The only thing I would be mad about is that all the programs I have on my computer would be lost and I would have to find them again and reinstall them onto a new computer.

Computers - Computers are a necessity nowadays.
Without a computer I probably be watching TV or reading a book. I love surfing, earning a little online but it's not my life. But I also must admit that i wouldn't be the same without a computer in the house.

I have already gone thru a few years without having my own computer and let me tell you, it really sucks. You will definitely get yourself bored without a computer and that is why I so love my laptop because anytime I want to go on the internet I can do it here at home or somewhere out there. I grew up always browsing the net and so when I moved here with my in-laws I hardly used there computer. I only use it when its very important but now that I have my own I stay with mine alone. I just love using my computer to go ont he net.

Aside from doing on, using computer there a lot of things I'm doing here in our house such as watching television, listening to music, reading news papers blah blah! I'm loaded in everyday so even without my desktop I could still make my day productive in so many ways. I won't be bored because I have 4 sisters and 8 brothers so we can not finish our time in a day to this and that conversation. Though it's here the door to mylot, still I could go to nearby internet cafe!

if my husband werent deployed, i wouldt really care if i had my computer or not. we go out and do things when he gets home from work, and while hes at work im busy with the babies and grocery shopping and whatnot. but while hes gone the only way i can really talk to him is through email, and i have to connect on the phone to talk to him through a website, so i have to be next to the computer. i freak out if i dont get to talk to him at least once a day because where hes stationed is EXTREMELY dangerous, and i need to know hes okay. i was on the phone with him once and i heard bombs going off, and he was like "omg baby! ill have to call you back!" i mean i can write him letters and send him packages, but he never has the time to write back, and it takes 2 weeks to get to him as it is. if i didnt have my computer right now, id probly be a crazy freaked out wife driving myself crazy wondering if my hubbys okay.
