I was drinking a glass of milk just now at my computer, and I put it down, and then I looked and my cat was in it up to her ears, just drinking it down. Well, obviously I'm not going to drink it now that she had her nose and tongue in it, so I let her finish it. But now I am worried- is it ok for a cat to drink milk? Is she going to get sick, should I be worried? Has anyone else let their cat drink milk? I know you aren't supposed to feed a dog milk. what do you think?

Don't worry, it is just safe for your cat to drink milk. I have tried this to our own kitty. Although i did not see anything bad happened to him. But if the doctor said anything bad on milk being taken by kittens, i don't have much info on that one.
About dogs, hhmmmm why not? what will happen to them if they drink milk? never knew this too, sorry.. Better we ask the vets for this or research it online to get some informations if milk is good for dogs or cats.

I have heard that too, that cats are not supposed to drink milk but I really do not know why, I believe I heard that is has to do with how they digest milk.
But I am not sure. I hope someone knows better than me and good luck with your discussion.

Most cats are somewhat lactose-intolerant. If they have too much milk (amounts are different with each cat), they will have upset tummies and you will be cleaning up after your cat.
To avoid this, I just give my cat very small amounts of milk at a time. That way, he gets the dairy taste he loves and doesn't make a mess in the apartment.
