I've been to some parts of Europe and across the continent to USA..Now I'm looking to go for a weeks vacation to Asia. More on the South East side. Can anybody suggest where I should head, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, Bangkok...WHERE?

My goodness, so many choices! I've lived and worked throughotu South East Asia and although I'm an Australian, was actually born in Hong Kong too. Your decision on where to go ultimately comes down to what your motivations are and what you feel like doing! If you want to laze around on a beach, then I'd go somewhere like Bali in Indonesia or Phuket or Koh Samui in Thailand. If you want to sightsee and experience ancient cultures and architecture, then I'd head for China or Nepal. If it's great shopping and great food you're after, then Singapore or Hong Kong would be ideal! When you're planning to go is an important factor too. If it's January/February 2010 for example, China will be unbelievably cold in the Northern parts and so will Nepal. Much of South East Asia has a monsoon/rainy season as well, so plan accordingly! Asia is probably my favourite part of the world, so I'm quite envious I must say!

Amazing Response to my query! Thnks a lot for this information. Now, I'm spoilt for Choice! My vacation will be for about a week only so I'm seriously considering Phuket or Koh Samui. I also heard the massages in Thailand are great...

Although I'm not a fan of massages myself, you'll definitely get a good one in Thailand. It's cheap too and in many instances they'll even give you one while you're laying in the sun on the beach! Thank you for the BR.

You could get a flight to Bangkok, see the city then head along the coastline, possibly visiting one of the islands. Then you might like to go to Cambodia to see some historical sights. So it could be 2 nights in Bangkok, 2 nights on an island and 3 nights at the historical site. Happy traveling.
