I dream often of going to closed down amusement parks...and I have no idea why. All of the dreams with this place are different, but I don't even like amusement parks in reality! Like the previous poster, I dream a lot about tornadoes as well, but I love them in real life. I've thought long and hard about being a storm chaser, for instance. In my dreams of tornadoes, I always see them form and then run towards them to marvel at their beauty, while everyone else is running the other way! :) I've had many different dreams that revolve around a strip of highway, also. I can see this highway in my mind at this very moment...it has a toy store, a Johnny Rocket's type restaurant, and an exit off the highway leads right to it. I've been there in many dreams--never with the same subject! I dream constantly about my cats and protecting them. In real life I love my cats dearly--more than every human I know but my husband, who is equal to them in importance to me--and I've had so many dreams where someone is trying to take them away and I have to rescue them. They've been kitnapped (cute word, haha), my eldest cat Thomas has gotten cancer (worst dream of my life), my two youngest have gotten run over by cars...these are all extremely upsetting dreams. When I was younger, I'd have nightmares about two things, and only two things: tyrannosaurus rexes and Chuckie from Child's Play. I have very vivid dreams where I can smell, feel, hear, and taste within them, which makes nightmares even scarier for me. Great question! I hope my answer contributed to your article in some way. :)

I just wanted to add...I did have a dream years and years ago that repeated itself verbatim 9 times. I first had it when I was about six years old and had it eight more times before I turned fourteen. In it, I was at my grandma's house for Sunday dinner and I was waiting for my dad to get there. I was playing in the backyard when my mom walked out and walked down the driveway. I followed her but didn't say anything, and a red sports car pulled up with a really old guy driving it with a bright smile. I didn't know my mom knew I was there but she turned around and said, "Don't tell Daddy." I watched her leave and I heard her laugh at something he said as they drove away. Minutes later my dad comes to my grandma's in his red truck, and he asks me, "Where's Mommy?" And I always look the other way and said, "I don't know." It was the most upsetting dream I had when I was younger...I remember telling it to my mom the first time I had it, because I didn't understand it. She had to tell me that in the dream she was cheating on my dad, which has always been weird to me. How could I have a dream about something I didn't even understand? Dreams are amazing things to think about...

Great article! I think I am a lucid dreamer as you described them in your article. If I get too scared in my dreams I can blink really fast and repetitively to wake myself up. That highway exit I told you about above is one place I've revisited in my dreams because I wanted to. Dreams and their connection to reality is something amazing to think about and ponder over. I want to know exactly where my mind got the idea of that highway...or that my mom was cheating on my dad before I even knew what cheating was. Amazing!

I have repeated dreams about tornadoes. I have never actually seen a tornado in my waking life. In my dreams, there is usually one HUGE tornado or several small ones, and I can never find a safe place that doesn't have windows. I've read that dreaming about storms can indicate that you feel there are problems in your life that you can't control. Since I'm dreaming about tornadoes, I guess I must have some big problems!
