i'm so excited and yet very scared at the same time. you see i start college next month i'm 36 and have so many mixed emotions. i'm going back to become a medical billing and coding specialist. its alot of money for 75 wks its gonna cost me almost 27,000 dollars. some of the things going thru my mind are am i making the right decision, i've thought about this for over a yr and still the thoughts keep coming up. does anyone here know of people who do this. my main goal is to get it to where i can work from home. i've heard of two people who are friends of my family and who are friends of a friend who do this kind of work from home and make a good living doing it. i wonder if with the gov. going to the universal health care system if it will be worth it. any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Hey that is great news tbrown1227, I do hope that everything goes smoothly. That is alot of money for 75 weeks, That is $360 a week. I just hope it is going ot be worth it. Can you get assistance? I think if it works then it is worth it. If you feel that you will be able to make twice that amount back in less then a year..

thank you yeah i know its alot of money for 75 weeks, thankfully i can get assistance. i've talked to alot of different people in this field and they make good money. i also have a sister in law that works for blue cross blue shield and she told me that it would be good for me to go to school in this field for several reasons. the main one is that they are starting a new codes and if you are not in school than you won't know how to do it. they are only teaching it to new coders and billing .

That is good that you will be getting help, and to get a new start in life and be able to use the knowledge you learn to provide for your family. I wish you the best of luck in your new adventure.

Hi Ms T! I got your e-mail the other day - will respond, I promise. And yes, you are making the right decision. Going to back school will not only be good for you but also for your kids and their future! Let's just say it'll cost you 27,000 dollars to go to school (like you said). If you make $100 a day, you pay off your schooling in less than a year. If you're planning to use your education for more than a year (and I'm sure you are), then you'll be on the POSITIVE (i.e. making money). It will be a great investment for you and your future. And you never know where all this could lead. Good luck, Ms. T!!

thank you i know that i am making the right decision, and i do plan to use it more than just a yr. it also shows my kids that its never to late to go back to school and that you need some kind of education. it is also something that i can do from home and still be their full time for my family.
