Did you know that 2009 marks the beginning of the "Ignore a troll" decade?

I'm amazed that there hasn't been more fanfare about this momentous occasion actually! It's an extremely important decade for humanity because what it means is that we collectively get to report trolls behind the scenes but never, ever give them the satisfaction of interacting with ANY of them because we know their sick little minds get off on it! And we get to do it for a whole TEN years! How cool is that?
I reckon this could end up being SO successful, they'll probably extend it another 50 years in 2019 for sure. If we're REALLY lucky, I reckon some of these troll idiots will even show up in this very discussion! I'm so looking forward to that so I can keep on pressing that little "!" button. Oooooh, if I'm even MORE blessed, they might even attack my rating for being so ignorant!
What an exciting time this is! So who's with me?

Well, I have seen ton of discussions lately that I have ignored and seen that the troll received alot of responses to some of them even if it was telling them that their discussion was reported. I don't really think it is advisable to tell a troll they were reported and by whom since they can play havoc on our own discussions and rating by them and their friends taking revenge. So if one feels to report or to rate negatively we just should pop in and report/rate it and leave and not give them the satisfaction of revenge on us and others or that satisfaction of getting so many responses even if they will later be removed maybe.

Gotta look over me sometimes..What I meant was that I don't want them to know that I even rated them and that they wouldn't know until it was proven..so..I think I got my answer a little twisted up awhile ago..gotta look over that..haven't had coffee today to jump start my brain..lol

I had no idea! Why didn't someone tell me? Oh wait, it's probably because I already ignore the trolls anyway...usually! LOL Okay, with that being said I guess I'll continue with ignoring them as commenting back to them only makes matters worse.

I never used to ignore them entirely and it got me nowhere really. Good for you if you've managed to be this disciplined about it from day one! The more attention they get, the more enthusiastic they seem to become, so yes, it DOES make matters worse if we comment6 back to them in any way whatsoever. Out of mind, out of sight I reckon!

oooh ooooh it's so hard to ignore though, but I'll try. They say silence is much more powerful than abuse.

Well, the odds of them even getting to 100 and reaching star status would be pretty slim you'd think! I don't rate negative anyways and have maybe twice in my 3 years here. I'll report blatant abuse and violations etc and ignore everything else. Even my Swedish lady friend never got one single negative rating from me and she drove me insane!

Well they are looking to grab your attention and get you into an unwanted rallying with them. Ignore them and that's the best attitude. They will come and they will go. Yes, they do spoil the nature of the forum and and that's the cheap thrills they get out of it. You have your friends with you James all the way.

Exactly right! So they'll get no attention from me anymore. Why would I wish to give them the satisfaction? It's amazing to see how the strangest of things can bring people excitement. How acting in this manner can be fun is not something I can work out at all. Friends make it all bearable in the end though and I'm eternally grateful for that, so right back at ya big boy! lol.

Trolls! Bless there little psychotic cotton socks! We have a few of those over at Hubpages - they need a couch and therapist.
I totally agree on the humanitarian impulse though. Can you feel it in the air James? I just watched 1 Giant Leap a few days ago.
This is the trailer which in itself is fun to watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4EfdaxUiO0
Hopefully times are a changin'. Pity about the trolls though, I think they'll get thicker before they are eradicated.

They appear to be EVERYWHERE these days! I reckon I could go and check behind my toilet right this minute and there'd be one there too. Be right back.....
Yep! There's been one there alright. He wasn't there right now, but I saw his footprints. I can feel those impulses in the air too, yes. I'm all tingly! lol. Great video there too by the way and the background music was good as well! "Answering the unanswerable questions" really did need to be done. They covered some ground with a heap of countries too! Thanks for sharing it Tetchie.

im really in the dark here. guess i've just not been around long enough. i've only had 2 people get on my bad side here and i just removed them from my friends list. that works btw, so far. im still fairly new tho compared to most others on here. what i just cant figure out is why someone would bother to keep renewing in different names and loose their earnings? i just dont get it.

I don't get it either bunnybon, not at all! The actions of these idiots are not really affecting me directly as such, but I'm frustrated because of the problems and heartache it's causing for many of my friends here. To ignire them all will ensure they never get any recognition at all for their actions and I think this is the way to go because they don't deserve ANY acknowledgement whatsoever. They're just disruptive and cruel individuals with way too much time on their hands and a sick and twisted view of the world.

Ignorance is bliss! He's admitted himself that they get off on all the funny reactions they get from people, so let's not give them ANY reactions at all! I'm perfectly happy to just keep on reporting them behind the scenes until they're gone and never giving the dickless wonder's the satisfaction of caring. Good to know you're in too kayedanda!

I had experience fighting trolls and hard core idiots here in mylot back in my first account. but for now, id sure to stay away from them while i still have that chance..."I will Ignore a Troll" at least for this year.lolz

Good idea Letran! Trying to fight trolls openly really is a pointless exercise because they don't act or thing like normal people at all. It's far better and far less stressful to ignore them completely and just keep reporting them behind the scenes. If enough of us do this, they'll never last long with each account they start.

What kind of trolls are we referring to because im unfamiliar wih this occassion.
Is the plan to mock trolls aka short people or are we discussing about if thy exist or not?Exciting as in The lucky charms marketing guy that sells processes cereal that is ten times less healther thEn eating a bowl of oatmeal?
