Sick Pay & Holiday Pay

I've been off sick since January and getting SSP, in April I had a long term sick visit from HR and my manager, at this time it was stated several times that even though I was off sick I still accrued holiday and could request holiday pay.
At the time I was managing with just SSP, so didn't ask for it.
I had another visit in July and was going to ask for holiday pay (but forgot and my partner asked the next day.)
The supervisor didn't know if it could be done and said she'd contact HR, first of all, seen as I was told in April I could have it, wouldn't it have been a good idea for the manager to let staff that deal with holiday pay know about this?
I didn't get my holiday pay through, but I also didn't get any letter/phone call that I can't have it (it could just be a case of the supervising forgetting.)
I know if they have to let me go, they are going to have to give me all the holiday pay accrued anyway, so they may as well let me have it now, else I'll have to have over 60 hours off (which is about a month) if can go back.
Does anyone know basic law on getting holiday pay with sick pay?
