Hi mylotters, yesterday I saw an Oprah episode that covers the winner of if I am not mistaken the third season of Biggest Loser, Eric. He said that he actually embarassed showing in public TV because gained back his weight around 40 kilograms (that's 90 pounds), after losing a jaw dropping 90 kgs (almost 200 pounds) during the show. He said that he suffers from food addiction, a problem that might also occurs on many people. If people get stressed or sad, they go to food and eating nonstop of it. Me myself don't have this kind of problem, I think I can control my eating habit, although I am a little bit worried of gaining few pounds since start working. Workout is a must, but I know a lot of us are making excuses that we are to busy to do this. So anyone here has the same problem with Eric? Do you try to solve it? How?

I just substitute foods that can cause weight gain. I excluded all trans fats from my diet and i try to eat mostly raw food. also i got all the overly processed food out of my diet. so instead of eating baked goods from bleached flower i eat the same whom rye, whole wheat, buckwheat and other flowers. if i can't find it sold, i make it myself. if you know how to cook it, it will taste even better that baked goods from bleached flower. i use only sea salt instead of regular table salt, i use brown sugar instead of white one. so basically i eat the same things i used to eat before, but they are just made of healthier ingreadients that will not make me gain weight. i actually lost a few lb.

Great response mrakobesie, you actually tell me your detailed dietary program, which is very good and very useful for me and the rest of myLotters. But I am afraid I don't have time to find all those ingredients you mentioned, but will try to follow your suggestion. Do you make your dietary program yourself or following a specific guidance from books or nutritionist? Thanks for the response!

I eat usually 5-6 times a day. I eat a lot of junk food and TV dinners are also my favorite and number one choice to eat. but i am not fat i am 185 6'1 and active so i think it all depends if your active or not with the eating problem.

I used to have a bi foos addiction when I was teenager, maybe that was just eenage time so I always wanted to eat, eat, eat; I bought snack during lunch time at school after the main lunch meal, I bought chocolate or ice cream after school before home, I bought snacks again after dinner meal... now the more I think about it, I think that was little crazy... fortunately, I didn't gain over weight or really fat...
These days, I have been eating lesser, I don't have as big as food desire anymore, I still like to eat lots of food but not like what I was anymore, not even close. If my husband brings me to a big buffet, I would be more than happy to go though!

I think that there are millions of people addicted to sugar in the Western World. It's a big problem.

I agree with you. When I travel to Europe I found the food sometimes is too sweet I just don't understand why they like it. In America, they have a large portion of food which I think explains why there are many obese cases in the country than other part of the world. Thanks for the response

well i don't know how much an actual food addict can eat a day...but i myself eat like 6-7 times a day and i eat a lot at once...but i'm an active sportsman so i guess that's why i'm not fat at all and i'm not concearned at all about eating so much a day...if i would be sittin all day in front of the tv or something than i guess i would be quite large, but now i'm just fit,so until i don't start getting fat,i'm not thinking about eating less:)

wow, is it a regular eating or you mean breakfast, lunch, dinner plus snacks cause it seems a lot of food in a day. What sports do you play? I guess I will start work out soon, cause it will burn all those fats and calories I eat everyday. I think a food addict eats a lot of food during their regular meal, maybe if for example in the restaurant, they eat twice the normal people will usually eat, and also lots of unhealthy snacks during a day.

I dont really have that problem, but i do eat a lot. Im underweight and i eat all the time. right now im pregnant and i wake up and all i want is a chicken quesadilla. i cant tell you how many times ive been to taco bell, its ridiculous. you would think that i woudld be huge, but for some reason im unable to gain weight. it was the same with my daughter though. i would eat all day and all night, and she was 8 pounds 7.7 ounces, and the day i had her i lost all the baby weight. it looked like id never been pregnant! wierdd.

Wow emmasmomma,I think every mom in the world will envy you a lot on this :)) Many women has the problem with getting rid off those weight they gain during pregnancy, including my sister, which until now cannot go back to her regular weight before pregnancy. Many women thinks they can eat all they want during pregnancy because they said it is for the baby, but sometimes I think they are too loose on this excuse and mix it up with their own hunger:)))Thanks for the response

Fortunately, I don't have food addiction problem. Yes, I do see the dangers, or rather, the negative consequences of food addiction. I certainly sympathize with people who have this problem !

I do not have any addiction to food habit. I eat anything in front of my dish when I feel hungry. I eat only 4-5 times a day just upto the amount to meet out my hunger. I was a sportsperson and never felt any addiction to food.
