If called upon could you rule...?

A town, a city, a state, or an entire country? Do you have good leadership qualities? It is common knowledge that leaders receive a lot of flack about thir abilities, but have you ever put yourself in their place? Could you do a satisfactory job if you had to? There's this game that I play where I am in full charge of caring for every detail of the people's lives. Sometimes it becomes quite stressful when things are not going so smoothly! That is when I have to ask myself if I could account myself well in a situation where I really had to be so responsible.

In a world where you have to have two sides to everything. You have to have followers and you have to have leaders. If I had to choose to lead or watch, I would lead. I don't think anybody wants to be a follower, even the ones that are. In some way, shape or form, we all are followers, but we all know what's wrong and what's right. To be able to pass down to your neighbor, friend, loved one & next generation, the codes and ethics of life is very important. You must be a leader in order to do that. You must be a leader in order to know when something isn't right and speak upon it to provide resistance. With the current state of our world, I hope we all find the inner Leaders in us, because the day we all follow each other is the World will truly END!

I take it that you have leadership qualities, Jay, and are fully aware of that fact. Sometimes people are called upon to lead even when they don't consider that they have those qualities. Often they are surprised! I believe it is often merely a case of developing those qualities within ourselves.

If it really came down to it I would do the best I could. I have 'ruled' over my family for many years and did a pretty darned good job. I am responsible, well organized and have a good sense of humor. I think I would do a fare to midlin' job actually. I have a basic knowledge of math.

I think I am in a given situation. I would think that you are as well.

I am no ruler, so that is an easy answer for me! I am not quite part of the sheep syndrome and can be pretty awkward and stubborn, not leadership qualities and I will more often or not cut my nose to spite my face. In fact I am not a people person, so the only time I'd rule is over animals LOL! So I wouldn't be a great choice in fact if anyone was looking for a leader I'd be invisible. Life is stressful enough without adding to it and looking after people, I struggle to look after myself at times!

If only people were as agreeable as animals often are, wolfie! I tend to agree with you as I've often wanted to just be invisible.

I am more Clemenza than Don Corleone. In other words, I am better as an second in command than at the top.If you asked me this a few years ago,I would say I am Lucka Brazzi,a foot soldier, but now I have graduated to right hand man.

I do.if you have seen the Godfather, Vito had all the power And the problems. Clemenza had a happier life ,and he lived longer.I am not into power trips,I prefer to be happy.

If you have graduated to the right hand man position, sarah, who's to say that you can't reach even higher?

I think I could give it a try but I do not know how long I would last at it. I do not work very well under alot of pressure. I would do my best with it though until it got to be more than I could handle.

To be honest, Right now I would have to say no. I couldnt possibly run anything because I am filled with such disgust at the way people act these days. I am not saying I am perfect. However, I am so sick of the hatred, stupidity, and innuendos that people put forth. So I would have to say NO. dl

Sometimes, dloveli, a good leader has only to separate the wheat from the chaff.

There is no way that I could do that. I could not lead anything more than a birthday party.

No, I do well enough being a program coordinator for nine clients. Sometimes I feel like I cannot manage. It is enough responsibility for me.I cannot imagine running a city or town, let alone a larger body of people.

I don't know, GG, but I think you might just be surprised if you really had to do it.

I can organise the team at the direction of the leader and I can do the work as a member of the team, I can come up with workable ideas at a brainstorming session sometimes but I'm not a leader. I can delegate very well but I lack the strength of a leader...being a leader or the big honcho would make me miserable.
