I have not hel but notice that there are more one line discussions at mylot. I enjoy them because they are sweet and short, I am a bit jealous tho because I sometimes have to think long and hard before writing a discussion yet these people seem to do it with ease. And sometimes I find myself giving a long comment than what they discussion was. I also enjoy lengthy discussions. They are well thought out and well done too. So I am wondering do you like one line discussions or more content discussions? And why? (The coffee is something that I need to last till ten oclock when I am planning to go to sleep.)

I have seen one line discussions in here, as a matter of fact the day I started this discussion I saw a handful. I hope we all improve in our discussions, I know I have.

Well i guess it depends most of the 1 line discussion most likely became thoese like survey type question . there is nothing much to discuss about until there is a conclusion from the survey and the conclusion is something that is very intersting to discuss about yea .

You are right, sometimes I have found a one line discussion where my answer was bigger than the discussion, that was fun, but it is hard to argue with a question, either one answers it or moves on.

I think I love both; depending on what topics are being discussed. I love coffee and tea too, any beverage would do actually and giving me that extra energy to enjoy discussions here. I love to read a long post, a short post and answer long bits plus the short ones. Anything works for me, as long as they are within the topic. Oh, what the heck...diversion is cool too, ha...anything goes, really.

I guess it all depends on what the one line says Most times they are rather silly or downright stupid and they are not that enjoyable. But, on the flip side, some discussions seem to go on to long and you get tired just reading them. I suppose that means I like discussions somewhere in the middle, like yours The coffee comment made no sense to me, baby. Maybe it is I that needs the coffee LOL

I put a photo of a cup of coffee with a smile, like the mylot cup of coffee, I thought it was proper, lol I know what you mean, I do enjoy all three and the one line discussions if it smart enough to make me think of a longer answer than the discussion. I should be sleeping now

It really doesn't matter to me. As long as i can relate to the question, i most probably answer it. Though discussions with long content are interesting, short discussions are easier o comprehend and give responses to.Ü

I like anything that can turn into a thoughtful conversation. No drama or mudslinging. Just opinions and open mindedness.

I respect that, I feel that way too, there is too much drama in real life so why look for it in the internet? Thanks for sharing.

Even I tried earlier to give a lot of comments and that too big ones. But, I hardly see big comments unless there is a good discussion going on. So, it basically depends on the discussion going on and it is very good to see people posting good content.

my rule of thumb for mylot is to make both discussions starters and answers at least 3 lines long just to get some content for what i want to say. plus, i think that way the money is better because there is more to the answer and topic.

Personally, I prefer the longer discussions-- but I write for a living, and I really enjoy reading. I pass by most one-liners, unless they are asking some particularly poignant question. Maybe I'm biased... but a lot of one-liners suggest to me that the person is ONLY here to make money... and the Internet already has MORE than enough web sites with no content of value. In some ways, I prefer the longer discussions because I use the web for research... and I simply don't like the way web pages with NO content waste my time. And I don't want to CONTRIBUTE to a problem I complain about.

What you're saying makes sense to me. I try to give good answers and there are times when I have the time but do feel to tired to make a discussion, so I don't, I go on answering to other till inspiration strikes.

Short lines or content? Hello friend, for me I rather enjoy the content. Personally I don't see why anybody would even bother to write the one liners here at mylot because they are not going to be paid for them. So I will write a one liner if I"m in a hurry and on my way out of something like that but otherwise I usually try to focus on writing something about four or five lines at a minimum simply because. These few pennies that I'm making here at the lot might not be much but after a while they start to add up and in this case lines are money. In the world they say money is time but here at the long lines equal money......... you get it? Hope so, anyhow take care and happy mylot I gotta go! Add me as a friend if you haven't already done so. Thanks...... Peace out.

Makes sense to me. I understand what you're saying, yet many people seem to think they make money based on how many discussions they start and not so much on the content, I myself find it at times hard to be original on a site with so many people and there are times when I feel I have accomplish that. I will add you. Take care.

Usually i prefer responding to interesting discussion regardless of the lenght of the post, long posts are more likely to contain interesting facts than short one, but there are many exceptions, so basically it is the topic that makes the difference not the lenght.

I also feel that what attracts people at times is the subject and then the tittle of the discussion. I try to be original with my tittles but at times I prefer to wait when inspiration strikes, I prefer to wait or at least write a discussion per day. Some days I am inspired and write too and others I skip starting a discussion.

Ofcourse, one line discussions and long contents do have their own respective essence and values. It is quite interesting to read about the experiences of myLotters in the course of their life. When I have the time, I do read the long contents word by word. But, when I don't have the time, I have to skip those. I would then have to go to the one line discussions.

I don't mind either type of discussion. I like short and long equally. However, whenever I respond to a discussion or create a discussion of my own I tend to make them quite lengthy! My reason for this is, I can type and this is a tremendous help when it comes to writing. I think that it's also a requirement of My Lot. The responses have to be more than four lines in length, I'm sure that I've read that somewhere. The good thing about My Lot is you can talk about anything, you can create a discussion about anything. My Lot is one gem of a place!! Andrew

Both are fine with me as long as long as it isn't just stupid. I would like to know were is the rule that says your discussions has to be 5 or more sentences long? I guess I need to do some more reading because I've never heard that one before. Some discussions are just to long, they go on and on about something that could be said in about two paragraphs.

I remember reading something along those lines somewhere, but I do not remember where that the longer the discussion the better. It could have a discussion for all I know right now.

I prefer longer discussions. I like to read what the person feels. Understand why they are talking about a certain subject. With your discussion starter, you have told me that you enjoy the longer discussions. You have also stated that they are certain well thought of. Just like yours here. You discussion has given me the opportunity to give a lengthy response. I was able to explain my thoughts about your discussion starter. With one liner discussions, I would think, why are you asking this question or why are you starting discussion. I would not be able to respond back with a lengthy response. There would be no content of the discussion. And there is nothing I could even expand on. My discussion starters always have my thoughts and ask for the thoughts about other members. If I ask for advise, I always seek different opinions by explaining my situation then asking the question.

I know what you mean, it is truth and I feel the same way, it is only a handful of comments that I feel I could write a longer answer than the discussion itself. I tried to be thoughtful about what I write, I sometimes see something and like to comment on it, others I just write about what I am doing in my life, not a lot but well there it is.

I think it's possible to have both. If we choose our words carefully, we can get to the point with good content. I like the two liner discussions, but I sometimes suck it up, lol, and read the novels here too. Sleep well!

Of all my started topics only 10% have longer lines from 6 to 8. I'm happy and contented doing it. As if I'm talking to a mylotter face to face. A fast and easy to understand topics that's all I've started. Though not all were interesting to the others 'coz (scratch head) some were zero in response.[em] Even if I started it short I always make sure that I could make a comment to each respondent. It's short but I want a continuous conversation by replying back almost all the responses.
