Just wondering, for those of you who's had DIRECTV or who still have DIRECTV, do you feel that you are getting your money's worth?
For those who switched from DIRECTV, is your current provider better? Who did you go with and why did you leave DIRECTV?

My hubby and I used to have DirecTV for a few years, but we eventually cancelled with them because they kept jacking up their prices, and we were subjected to more trashy programs than movies. We never subscribed to another provider. Maybe if 'ala carte' were available we would subcribe, but that will never happen because of the greed in the world.

I think DIRECTV used to have ala carte but they don't offer that now. I guess they'd lose revenue if they did it that way.

I had previously been a Comcast subscriber for years. The picture quality on some of the channels was very poor, and some of the channels I liked to watch were later moved into Comcast's digital lineup, which costs extra. When I moved into my new home over a year ago, I compared the prices for cable/phone/Internet. The overall bundle package with Qwest/DirecTV is about $30 less than Comcast, and I get more of the channels I like with better picture quality.
There is another area cable company I wanted to try, but it just started a year ago and hasn't expanded into my neighborhood yet.

I have had DIRECTV FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS BUT I'M SERIOUSLY THINKING OF SWITCHING BECAUSE I FOUND OUT THAT DISHNETWORK IS CHEAPER. CHEAPER BY AT LEAST 30 BUCKS IF NOT MORE. I HAVE TO LOOK MORE INTO IT BUT HOPEFULLY BEFORE THE SUMMER IS UP I WILL HAVE SWITCHED.

Cheaper perhaps. Not sure about quality though. Have no feedback for DishNetwork yet.
