Shall/Shant are these archaic words???

Okay, so I actually use both of these words in every day conversation. My family is used to it so I haven't gotten anything from them. But I worked at a bank once and my Managers said that these were too "old english" and that I should stop using them. I don't think I did though, they are so ingraned in my thinkging, my words and my writing. I do have my characters say these words. I think they are better than. "Should I?" "I won't," Which are used all the time. Even in some of my modern day books I have seen these used. What do you think are these TOO archaic for you? or do you use them as well?
