Hey I just heard this great news. Google is launching its own OS. Its called Chrome OS. Its based on Linux. It'll be web based. But it'll be out till next year.
Isn't it obvious that Microsoft and Linux should already be very conscious. its google that we are talking about. Its sure to stir things up. Lets see what happens.
What do you think, will you give up your own OS and gp for Chrome OS ???
Do share...

I've heard about the Chrome OS. We'll see if it's ok first. I might try it out. But I might not give up my Hybrid OS yet. I heard this OS will make microsoft have a run for its money.

It may turn out to be a great OS just like Linux is....but people still wont get rid of windows....they may dual boot but they wont use that OS instead of windows... for the same reason linux never caught on in that way....all of the major software that people want from games to office suites to whatever is generally made for windows and mac...sure linux has some great programs....but the ones people want like photoshop or quark you cant get in linux and very few games come in linux....thats why people use both...because they are good OSes they just dont have the programs available that windows does

You are funny dude.. Why should Linux be concerned? It's based on linux kernel and linux is open source. And there's nothing concerning for windows. A gazillion linux variants are here and other OSes like Solaris and Mac are also there. Still nothing happend to Microsoft. But as time progresses, linux should dominate over windows.
And why should we GIVE UP windows or whatever OS that we are presently using? Have you ever heard of a thing called dual booting? So even if the OS gains popularity it must just end as another parallel OS - nothing so powerful will be there that makes millions around the globe would trash windows and replace it with Chrome.
Anyway lets wait and see.
NB: I am a linux buff :D

Ok. You have most of the services that you have in windows in linux. Why does people bother trying Windows? And remember it is linux based - not anything independent. So the basically it's still linux. So i don't think it will pose such a great threat to Windows. Well, about android, though many are praising it even without using - i have been hearing some negative buzz around ;) Anyways yes, i want to see this microsoft suckers being banged on their heads. Such a daylight robbers they are.
BTW about VMware - yeah it does make your PC slower.. ;)
Cheers mate :)
