can any one confirm how to start with twitter and what i will do with twitter.

You can send short messages (140 characters long) every time as a 'Tweet' as they call it, anything you'd like to say, like in blogging except it comes off as short status lines. You can follow other people who tweets, such as some celebrities who use this site, and some others can decide to follow you and when you follow people, you will see what they post publicly. If you decide to send a private message to people who follow you, just send a direct message. If you don't want certain people to follow you, you can always block them.
