Do you think North Korea wants war with South Korea and the U.S.?

A lot of us already know about the missiles that North Korea aimed and fired at the United States. Luckily, they were intercepted.
The latest news, which I read on MSN's home page, was that North Korea had hacked into and brought down some major government internet services, like the U.S. Treasury, Homeland Security, Department of Defense, etc. They also did the same with South Korea's government. These problems were rapidly fixed but the fact remains that North Korea seems to have a major chip on it's shoulder and seems to be asking for more trouble than they can handle.
I can't help but equate this with when the U.S. got into World War II. We were in a major depression just before entering that war. The war actually stimulated our economy and brought us out of that horrible depression. Now, we're in a major recession and North Korea is saying, go ahead, I dare you!
If you have any more information about this, please share. I didn't read too much, just enough to make me shake my head and think, here we go again! Do you think a war is imminent? Do you think this is North Korea's way of saying that they want war? I'm thinking they're just pi$$ed off because they lost their other war. Maybe they have more advanced weapons and think they're in a better position to win a new one. Do you have any thoughts on this?

i would hope that if they are brave enough to start it that the next day we will see the pictures of the great crater in the ground where N Korea used to be. I don't know what they think they are doing but I don't think they want to challenge the USA, sometimes i think they do what they do to just tease us. They know we will consider any act of sending a missile into American air space a act of war. And we will respond back. I did read that there was a shut down of some agencies, but didn't read that it was Korea that did it. I do think they are after S Korea. I think they are testing Obama to see what he will do.

That could very well be, bdugas, that he's testing our new president. It's well known that they've wanted South Korea for a long time now.
Greed, power and insanity... those three things should NEVER be in the same person! All I can say is that I hope someone takes this guy out (along with his son) before a full-fledged war breaks out.

I became concerned about North Korea months ago. Its leader is a perverted, degenerate and probably insane man who has delusions of grandeur. He starves his own people to proliferate nuclear weapons. His son, by all reports, is the same as his father.
I do think Kim Jong-il wants war with the United States and anyone else that is game for it. I think he is insane and believes that he should command the world. In fact, nearly all national leaders think that, otherwise they wouldn't have coveted the office. His insanity is the danger and I fear that the world will underestimate his resolve in his delusions.

I doubt they want to go to war. I don't think they're that stupid to want to take on the US and all of its allies right now. We're pretty "p.o.'d" as it is, with the way things are going in the Middle East right now.
Sure, they may have more troops than any other army on the planet, but I think perhaps they just want to show off their cowardly might, as if to say; "See. We have the means to reach you if we want to." I mean, they've been trying to work on this project for years, so it's kind of "old news". And don't worry either...I'm quite sure the Pentagon is strategically monitoring the situation anyway.
But...if they DID go to war, I doubt very much they'd win. The rest of the world would rally against them so fast; I even doubt they'd get off the first shot.

I don't think that North Korea wants a war with USA or any other country. They did not fire any missile to hit USA. All they are doing is testing their missiles. Every country has a right to protect themselves. If they're communist so be it. It is USA and Soviet Union (now Russia)who put their nose in others affairs like in Vietnam, Korea and Afghanistan and create trouble there. South Korea is capable enough to protect herself without the help of USA. I do not like hiccup's comment where he wants to nuke North Korea. What will you get by killing innocent people. If USA nukes North Korea, then Russia and China will definitely respond by nuking USA. Third world war follows.

It's really freaking crazy. You'd think that these nutcase leaders would be hung and let the people come up to speed with the rest of the world. All it amounts to is paranoid idiots who want to control everything around them and when things look bad, blame someone else for making the problems. It's obvious that NK is going to step too far some day and I hope that a swift action will follow that would end it and the leader and his other insane idiots will be removed from power forever. The sad thing about all this is that the innocent always have to pay a heavy price.
One thing that pisses me off and I'm Canadian, is that all these explosive regions around the world want the USA to be the one to intervene but never offers any support. It's time for neighboring countries to do their part to stabilize their own regions, instead troops have to be sent from half way around the earth to an area they know nothing about and have their families back home wait for their children and husbands come back in body bags. Perhaps, the day will come when this will stop and everyone will have to take care of their own problems.

This is the problem with a government that is run by basically one man. What ever that dictator wants will happen. What is far worst than trying to pick a fight is the fact he is completely ignoring the plight of his own people. They are, because of the sanctions that have been put on them for as long as most can remember, in desperate shape. Perhaps one of the poorest nations on earth. Of course this alone may be the reason why he is doing this. Very faulty thinking.
When a leader of a country sets himself up with the good life and then does things that bring hardship on his own people he should be brought down.
I think he is crazy because he is trying to take on most of the nations that could wipe his country of the face of the earth with not much to back it up. And he is even alienating the countries that have backed him in the past.
But make no mistake unless the United States is attacked we have no business doing anything to him. We are not the worlds policeman and do not need another war. There are far for important issues to deal with.

They threaten to take us all over, but I really don't think it will last Nations throughout the world will hold them up to international scorn and stomp on their plans. If not, we're toast! They don't care about the rules or getting along with others or anything but whatever they want to do. Back in the 1950s, the nation had to split in two to appease them , but that was obviously not enough for them.

dear mentalward,
whoever is more powerful over NK should make their move. if USA or UN can do better to stop NK from starting a war, it should be now, right now. i don't want to see wars and i don't want my kids, our kids experience what our parents and grandparents had experienced in the WW2. peace is all we need not war.

I dont think so. Why these people create such weapons it can kill many individuals. Why not think good things war are nonsense. What they really want is to be famous and be the leading country in the world. Well just pray for them I hope that they also think of their people.

lets hope and pray that NoKor will realize the value of humanity if they will continue testing anti-human destruction weapons.
