How to prevent your cats from heat stroke?

Recently I moved into an apartment that face directly towards north, after 10 AM, the indoor temperature rise to 30 degree. I have to work and cannot take care of them, when I returned from work I always find them under the bed. Is there an effect way to make my kitties feel cool? I have a cat with long fur, should I cut them? All I can do is to close the curtains and offer them enough water. Thanks.

You can go to a pet grooming center and ask them to shave your cats fur. They'll know which part of your cat will be shaved. Don't worry, their fur will grow back eventually. And you can have a blast looking at your cat hairless...It will be funny.

Cats don't sweat through there skin so that will not help them to keep cool.

Yes, it could be fun to look at her with no fur, it sure can cool her down, thanks.
