Sometimes when the phone rings I let the answering machine get it. If it's a telemarketer, they usually hang up. If I answer the phone and it's a telemarketer, I often either quietly hang up or politely tell them I'm not interested.
Something I do every once in awhile is just lay the phone and walk off. They don't know I've done that and just keep talking. I walk back a couple minutes later to a beeping phone and just hang it up.

I just say Iam not interested then I'll hang up. Some of them are very irritating though we say I am not in a position to go for another Insurance policy or some thing else they will keep on talk about the benefits they are going to give their members, at that time I feel very irritated I know they have to meet the targets on monthly basis not to get remarks from the superiors.
Generally my cousins do talk to them and will ask many questions and finally they will say I am still a student so can't take your product. They are all very funny and notorious.

I let them put on their horse and pony show - if you want me to buy in to your product, you'll have to work for it... of course, all they do is read off a script... anyway, sound enthusiastic... make them feel that you're interested... ask them questions, questions that causes them to jump off the script and search for an answer... make them consult with their supervisor for answers to questions they can't answer... and then, finally, tell them you're not interested and say "have a nice day..." followed by hanging up the phone... LoL

I often got calls from strangers. Among others, some ask if I want to sell or lease my apartment, some recommend learning courses, some remind me the car insurance is close to expiration, some invite me to a tourist program on discount. I wonder how they got my phone number. Although I have applied for showing the callers' number, I have not rejected any when I am at home. I really need to think about it.

Normally if a telemarketer calls me, i either ignore the call, or i do know who it is so i pick up, realize its a telemarketer and go "oh, she doesnt live here anymore" and hang up. My step brother starts talking in french when they call. haha. then they hang up and call back. and he does it again, and then they never call back. hahahaha. its so funny.
