yesterday and the person was listing some great stuff about the site he wanted us to join. Wanted more info so went to the website. Found the site name on a blog post he wrote. Guess what? No referral link on the blog at all!!! And believe me, I searched all over. What is the purpose of promoting your site if you dont make it easy for referrals? I got tired of clicking on stuff to find the link. Put up a banner or put your referral link where we can see it. Sooo are you having trouble getting referrals?

Hello Sergeantrom, I am not sure if I understand what you are saying. :-) Are you puzzled because you could not find a referral link, or because you had troubles locating the specified site in his blog? :-) If the case is that you could not find a referral link, then what is the harm in that? :-) Some people are not greedy for money and do their absolute best to help others without wanting any thing in return. :-) If I was given the same opportunity to join the site you are discussing here without a referral link, I would count my blessings, as I would realize that this person was only looking out for my best interests and not his own. :-)

No I was looking for the referral link. He asked us to "join under him" which I assumed meant referral link. There is no harm if he was just passing on good info as you state. As we all know in the MEM forum, most are here to make money. Losing a referral because there was no link is the only harm done for this blogger, which in turn cuts down on his earnings. Yes there are bloggers who are not in it for the money. But when you see blogs with tons of monetization tools, its 99% bet that blogger is in it for the money.

Very good point.I think that if you are going to even ask people to go to your site, then you must have it in order. I know some people may have problems adding with html, but that is what Mylot is all about-Ask and you will get help!

That is a definate NO NO!! lol I do find it hard to get referrals for alot of things but once I can say I have been paid & can show this payment proof, I have no problems...like incentiveclix...i got my first payment & then started a discussion here on mylot & now I am lucky enough to have about 20 referrals. I think once you can show you've been paid, it makes getting referrals just that much easier.

If you want to see my payment proof, I can pm you the forum link where I posted it or I can cut & paste it in a pm for you :p I am going to request payout today for my next payment - I'm now waiting until I reach $1 before I request payout instead of the $0.50 that you can request payout at.

Sad to admit it but I gave up trying to get referrals. People don't seem to stand by what they say. Referrals for some are easy to get but not for me. And they tend to play games and just become a member on here and not want to be your referral to help you out. People are selfish now day. Take care.

I certainly understand your point, its tough out there and not just online. You hit it on the nail, selfishness. Everyone chasing the dollar no matter how they earn it. Dont give up though ok?

Hi fellow Mylotter,
I think that person just misplaced his links. LOL
Well, you add him as friend, then send him a message asking for the referral link. If you are really interested to join under him, that is.
Or you can join under me. LOL
Happy MyLotting,
calyxus

I agree with you on sending a PM but not on the complaining. Its called a discussion and the whole reason for mylot. Rather than telling one person about their website, which I often do, others can learn from this discussion from others mistakes.

Exactly! :-) Calyxus, I agree with you more than 100%. :-) Any time something, ie. an online venture, means that much to you, it is in your best interest to inquire more specifics about it. :-)

So very true about your pages, before you start promoting you need to make sure it is all in order. Check your own links make sure they work. Make sure all that you are talking about that should be linked is linked. I have blog also and I believe all my links work properly. I even check the links I have listed to other sites in my lists. Its the only way so that you don't miss out or they don't miss out on something other may want to learn from yours

No Referral Link - No Referrals!
That's simple!
Referral programs rely on these referral links. Anyone who is trying to get referral for their program make sure you are able to put the referral link up. Without this you will have no way of getting referrals, track your promotions and marketing (most important) to change your marketing techniques, and mainly to follow up on referrals who input information but don't sign up.
Make sure your referral link is very easy to see
