Do you believe that you will be rewarded if you did a good thing?

It is a general question, and would it be a truth? Some religion believe that if you done a good thing toward somebody or a group of people, you might be rewarded. Even though you didn't ask for the reward. Would you believe it? The reward I am talking about is not the gifts or monetary present you will be receiving. Maybe it is something else in a mysterious way. I don't really know how to explain it in a more effective way, but hopefully you understand what I am saying here. Don't you believe that?

I don't believe in luck or karma. We won't be rewarded by GOD or anyone else. There's no faith, just the life that we create by our selves

Hey, Yes I believe that if you do something good to a person, sooner or later you will be rewarded. But many people except the reward to come quickly. Either indirectly or directly, I still think that you will get rewarded. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Everyone always wonders if they'll be rewarded for their good doings. Even if they do good by impulse or because they expect something good to happen to them. The question is should you really expect an reward. If you do a good deed, chances are that you do it because of the joy you get from helping somebody out with whatever they needed help with, Whether they asked for help or not. I get a kick out of seeing someone's face light up with a smile when I've helped them out. The most I ask for is a thank you, which is hard to get if you live Los Angeles like I do! So, don't do a good deed because you believe your going to be rewarded for it. Do it from the heart and keep moving. How many good deeds can you do in a day?

Yes I believe but I have never come come across such a thing. I'm a very greedy person and whenever I help someone or the either I look forward to the things I'll get in return from that person. I get it. But I never help someone without any cause or without thinking about the fruits.

common sense is all we need to understand that by doing good one is rewarded. it's so practical! besides religion teaches us that we should do good things. it is written in the bible and i for one believe it. didn't God said that He is the ALpha and the Omega! what's there not to believe. every religion teaches us, even so in the islam and buddist religions right? an eye for an eye? good for good!

Yes, we will, if not in this world, for sure in our next. There is a God watching us every moment, and He won't let good things go by.

In my opinion, one should do good because it is the right and proper thing to do. Expecting any kind of compensation makes it a selfish act, and disqualifies any "payment option" - Yes, do good, most likely good will come. Eventually. But don't do it for that reason. Do it because it is the right thing to do.

Hi Clorissa, I learn not to expect rewards for good deeds; it's the good feeling of having helped (or tried to help) someone in need. If I were to help someone because of the rewards, that would be rather insincere.

The world would be a much better place if people did good things towards others without receiving anything in return, but just because it's the right thing to do. I don't think anyone should expect a reward for doing good, then if a reward comes you can be pleasantly surprised.

I believe that you get back, what ever you give to the world. Like, you reap what you sow. If that happens to be a good thing, you get back a good thing, only more, but if you give bad things, you get back bad things, again only more. Because you sow tiny little seeds, and reap great big plants. Cheers.

The reward you get when you do a good thing, is the "good feeling" you get when you do these things". It has nothing to do with religion, or gifts, etc. Additionally, if you are often a "giving person" you do tend to become acquainted with very nice people rather than those who are negative. So, by doing good for others, you are rewarded with friends, as well!

I know that first you have to invite/accept Jesus Christ to be your personal Saviour of which the reward is eternal life. Anything else, like helping people equates to bonuses both during this life and the after-life in Heaven. I know that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one comes to the Father accept by Him.

It is what I used to believe till some times ago. Now I really have some doubts. I have always helped others and have done no damage to anyone. still all people act selfish with me.Life is only taking me too much tests although I had always been honest. I believe now its world for selfish people now.

I really dont believe that good gets good. We have taken people in to help them and we have always gotten the raw end of the deal it seems. We end up being used and then it turns bad as we them have no choice but to tell them they have to leave. Then of course there is hurt feelings. I dont know I just dont see good people being rewarded alot. Not only us but others, it seems there are some pretty bad people that get further ahead and have a better life. Now that said, I wouldnt change it as I can hold my head up and not feel guilty or have to hide anything about my life.

Its a fact that gd doesn't keeo our something for the long time. one's responsibility is to perform the particular task with full efforts ans with full concenteration. resume your work without think of reward. god will always give the reward for doing the good work.

It is always my belief that doing good things should be done not for their rewards but because it is just the right thing to do. Now without talking about the moral quandaries of right or wrong or gray areas, I believe that it is the intrinsic worth of the act that is the reward in itself and not just that comes after. For example, I'd rather good things because I believe in them rather than because I'll be rewarded in heaven. Take note that I still believe in heaven and the afterlife; what I just didn't focus on is the reason why I'm doing good.

Yes,I belive though I am not a religion. When you do something good to other, you feel happy and a sense of fullfillment. Then you will have confidence and enthusiasm to do other things. At this point, you have received the reward.Or,in the future, when you are in help, other people will bail you out.I always believe if you help others, others will help you in other ways in the future. And I like to help others, but my purpose is not to get their help back in the future.Actually,no matter rewarded or not, helping others is a good thing to do in nature. In China, there was a famous person who was famous for helping others, his name is Lei Feng.I learned his story when I am a little child,so his image root deeply in my mind, telling me that try your best to help people in need.
