I was looking through the sales ads today from the newspaper and in a couple of the sales papers they had school supplies and even some back to school ads for bags/lunch bags etc..... PLEASE!!! I feel like my son just got out of school and we are trying to really just enjoy the summer... do we really need to be reminded that back to school will be just around the corner!!!
Do you feel this way too?? I know the 4th of July just passed and they consider that half way through summer, but really... it just started!!! ...or is it just me?

Around here, summer is almost up! The schools let out at the end of May and they go back mid-August, so not to early to start shopping for school. The last place we lived, school got out like May 23rd and they wen back the 2nd week in August. Even that is just right around the corner.

School doesn't let in too crazy early here. In fact, the schedule here is really wonky. We just moved to this area at the end of April and the school distract we were in before, the kids had to be at school at 7:50 and they got out at 3:45. Here they go in for 8:00 (and they aren't strict at all about being tardy), M T TH F they get out at 2:20, but on Wed they get out at 12:45. They have at least 1 day off a month it seems too. Sowhy do they even need a summer vacation?

I feel the SAME WAY!!!!!! I'm a teacher and I feel like the summer just started!! I seriously can't believe I have to head back to school next month. This summer has been quite crazy for me though with getting married, a honeymoon, and a second summer vacation coming up on Thursday! lol So it's flying right by for me. Summer goes 100000000x faster than winter - WHY IS THAT?! not fair. lol

On the other hand... it is a great time to stock up on home office supplies - or just school style supplies that you need at home for the kids! I love back to school supplies sales!!! I watch them all and get things for 50 cents or less!!! Love them bargains! Just got thick 12 Crayola Markers for $1 and 8 thin ones for 50¢, spiral notebooks 4/$1

I noticed them in Target yesterday. Got alot of 50cent - $1 stuff! I have always loved back to school supply sales. Back when My kids werew little, it was almost carte blanche for them ... stuff for school and home and things were cheap enough that I could afford to let them get whatever they wanted.
I was also thinking...boy.. things have changed...we didn't have this cool stuff when I was a kid.. or even when my kids were kids... which wasn't that long ago! But the stuff these days is just wonderful! They get all this really cool stuff! And the lunch boxes...I want one myself! The notebooks and folders and things... practically every"character" can be found and stuff like "real life looking" animals.. and okay, I'll stop. You get the point! I just walked those isles and got some markers - thick ($1) and thin (50¢) - for my grand daughters and some spiral notebooks for me (4/$1). I would have gotten other things, but that is really all I needed and although would have loved to pick out more.. but I restrained my self!

Well with lot of school starting early maybe that's why - my granddaughters public school starts August 10! They just got out June 21! Seems like there are so many "teacher in service days" when there is no school for the kids and other "no school days" besides the regular hoidays, they have to go into the summer to make up those days so the shcool gets paid for keeping the kids in required number of days. They don't seem to care if the kids don't get a summer vacation!! But it does seem early... kind of like the holidays in stores. They gotta get teh back to school out, cause come September..Halloween stuff starts filling the shelves! Then the week before Halloween.. comes T-day stuff and the day after that comes Christmas stuff!!! Day after Christmas is V-day!But stock up now... that stuff don't go on sale until next summer and it is expensive any other time of the year! i buy just for home use.

thats hilarious!! I agree some of the prices right now are wonderful and I do have my list of things I need to get for my sons first grade --they gave it out the last day of school... it just seems so early to be thinking back to school just yet... I mean we are just getting use to the summer...LOL
they do have some really cool stuff and I should really get out there and get it before it is picked over and I am then searching everywhere for all the things I need!! LOL
thanks for the response and have a great day!

This is why I'm glad I'm not in school any more. It starts in August now. It didn't start until September when I was in school. I never did like school, anyway. I liked the first few days when we started in September. After a while, I got tired of it. I played in the band when I was in high school and we would always start marching the last two weeks of August. I remember how hot it would get, too!Kathy.

Hi. bookreadermom08. I have felt like this for every year when I was in school and also when my kids are in school too. It is annoying to see back to school items when school has not been out but a month or so. This makes me feel so irritated, I must say! I know that stores are trying to raise money and allow parents to have cheaper deals, but sometimes when I look in the newspaper or the sale paper, I don't want to be reminded of school when I know that I am enjoying the summer break, plus my kids are too. No, it is not just you. It is me, as well and I am sure that there are other parents that feel the same way that you do too. In July, when it is early in the month, I like to still be able to enjoy my summer break, without being bombarded by back to school items.

Summer will be gone fast, and we all have to go through it every single year. It was just a routine, if you are parent, you should know better. Our next generation will grow up fast, and the time will past fast too. I hope that you will understand it.
