I prefer firefox because new windows open up as tabs. Unfortunately, I can't watch movies from netflix in firefox and I have to use internet explorer for that and for working on state applications. I just wish that all applications would work in firefox. Thanks for bringing up the topic.

I don't know what the version I have is or whether it is the latest or not. Every so often, I see it has the window open that says that I have added the latest version or something like that so maybe I do have it. Have a great day!!!

I much prefer firefox! I have problems with IE. It freezes up and seems to be more suspectible to viruses than my firefox does. I would be lost without firefox! Down with IE!

Definitely I'll vote for FireFox for many reasons. It blocks most of the nasties. But recently my FireFox is having lot of problems with cookie handling. The earlier versions of FireFox used to remember my login information but now it's not so. Every time I have to log in to Mylot explicitly. So, I now switched to Opera, but it lacks behind when compared to FireFox in many aspects.

I didn't change any of the configuration I already set up. It was working up to a certain point, and suddenly stopped working. I checked the configurations, and nothing has changed. Don't know what happened? And I didn't have the patience to do any kind of research.

I like Internet Explorer better, for sure. FireFox just can't always handle web sites the way Internet Explorer can (different HTML engines for anyone who's thinking of yelling at me lol). For example, if you have an Exchange email account, and you want to check your email online, FireFox won't have all of the features that Internet Explorer will.
Also, Internet Explorer doesn't come with any viruses. It's the web sites and your downloads that will have the viruses, not your browser.

On the contrary, IE browsers are more prone to viruses than Mozilla firefox browsers. If you're referring about having an exchange email and IE is more suitable to it. Its simply because its a Microsoft product.. but if you try other softwares IE could not be able to run it as much as Firefox does..

For me, i prefer to use Firefox than IE browsers. When i used Internet Explorers i always end up having errors on my page unlike firefox it has no problem at all..
IE explorers are more prone to viruses because its a microsoft made software while firefox browsers are more used in Linux Operating sytems..

Definitely firefox. Since I started using firefox I never even missed IE for a minute (but there are some sites that only open in IE so I have to grudgingly use it sometimes). I do believe that surfing with firefox makes me less prone to viruses. I also use opera but firefox is my favorite browser.

Two things explore and the fire fox they are paid for surfing internet. Now a day explore come with the virus filters they filter the virus and many spam. If we see the dictionary. We does get the dictionary section in the explore we can say that we cant able to correct the spieling mistake with the explore. But Mozilla they provide the dictionary section which helps in correcting the spellings mistake. If we compare the Firefox with the explore for the offline availability the fire fox is the best the available is good. If we see the privacy site the security for the Firefox is less as compare with the explore. If we ask about the look for the browser the explore is the beauty full one . Most of the site are not support by they Mozilla the ask the explore for the system. maximum I use the explore as my default browser. Only in the rare cases I use the Firefox. But surfing the pt c site the Firefox is best browser site open for faster as compare to explore.

Explorer does not have viruses in it although it does let more pop-ups through. But your anti-virus program should stop some as well... at least mine does. But firefox has a pop-up blocker in the settings which Explorer doesn't have and no Explorer doesnt have viruses but firefox has a really small anti-virus system built into it when you download something!

I prefer Firefox to IE.First,Firefox is really very fast.2 years ago, when I bought my laplot that have Vista installed,it's too slow to browser websites. So I tried firefox for the first time. And I have used it until today.Second, firefox have mang add-ons that enables me to use it easily. My favorite like DownThemAll,Downloadhelper,Febe,Forecastfox,Gmail managerment. This add-ons is great.I love firefox so much. You should give it a shot.

hi scooby,
I'm using Firefox and at times tried IE, It's seems to me Firefox is more easy to use and allowed less pop-ups. No, i don't think explorer carries viruses. I just don't understand why some sites recommends firefox over IE in browsing them. I hope somebody could explain to me the reason behind.... thnx

if your obsessed with security go with firefox; if your a casual user ie is just fine. except for memory hogging and freezing I use fire fox cause its hard for garbage spyware to get through.firefox is like xbox 360- has its faults, but in the end both get it done.

This is a really good discussion because I know there are a lot of different browsers out there some that are good, and some that are bad,I am sure there are people who like Firefox, and then I am sure there are probably people who like Internet Explorer, and then I am sure there are probably people who like other ones like Opera,I really like the internet and I do not think I could not survive without the internet because it is the way that me and my fiance make money right now since we can not find a job due the unstable economy, and I have tried Internet Explorer and it sucked,it was always slow,it took forever to load pages, and it caused my parents computer to get a virus, and then my half brother was looking at it,and he said we should download Firefox,we did,and I am glad we did it,it is fast when it comes to searching for things,it has the ability to have multiple tabs up so that means I can improve my accuracy by getting more things done at once which is totally awesome, and it seems a lot more secure,my fiance also used Firefox before I met her and she likes it for all the same reasons and I do not think I would use anything but Firefox, have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I stop using Internet explorer because it crashes all the time on my PC especially the newer version. It hangs then crashes after a while especially when I'm using the computer for a long period of time. Firefox 3.5 is great and faster compared to IE8. It never crashes. In terms of security, I don't think IE8 is better than firefox because virus and spyware makers target Explorer more than firefox based on my internet research due to its popularity and its support of active x control, the vulnerable part of IE8 that makes viruses and hackers enter the system. Tab browsing too is copied by IE8 from firefox and opera. In terms of appearance, IE8 looks nicer than firefox. Firefox is more lightweight...

Firefox has better phishing and virus protection. And if you browse the web with the NoScript plugin you are almost untouchable.
